GEIL Winbond UTT no CL2 ??

    Hello guys,

i had tried this GEIL DDR RAM:
    Value PC3200 Blue (2.5-3-3-6-1T)
    GE5123200BH / GE1GB3200BH

there are Winbond UTT on it....
    http://ramlist.ath.cx/ddr/

I tried to boot with CL2-2-2-5, 201 MHz, up to 3,3V... but no chance

Board is a ASUS P4C800 Deluxe

I thought this chips are new BH5?
Or are this other chios then BH5?

Other BH5, the old one, works fine....

    Any ideas?

    THANKS loopy

Rule #1...never trust the RAM lists.
Rule #2......if it doesn't run 2-2-2-5 with 3.0v or less at 400MHz, it's not BH die, and it's not even CH die UTT.

Take an actual look at the chips and tell us what they say. Also, try 2-3-2-5 with 2.8v at 200mhz.

A heatsspreader covered the chips.... dont wanne remove them... these stcisk are not mine just test them...

2-3-2-5 @2,8V ans 200MHz aren´t possible.... standard timings are 2,5-3-3-6... this works fine.
    also 2-3-3-6 don´t work.

don´t trust the ramlist? the S/N agree with the list.

they also boot with CL3.... that isn´t possible with BH5 i think.

    THANKS

Those are not Winbond, for sure. Manufacturers change IC's on their low end kits very frequently and without notice.

And yea, Winbond die do not like CAS 3.
