    QX9650 ES - 5.28Ghz with 1.68v on Dry Ice

    Hey all,
Managed to snag some pretty decent scores today with some early dry ice overclocking with an Intel QX9650 ES and an ASUS P5E3 Deluxe.

The ASUS P5E3 Deluxe is a very nice board to use. Rock solid all day at sub zero, only the vcore was holding it back but luckily the CPU went strong with the 1.7vcore provided.

    Using:
    Intel QX9650 ES

    GeIL DDR3 1024MB 1066Mhz CAS6

    ASUS P5E3 Deluxe 0601 BIOS

    k|ngp|n F1 LN2 pot

    Motherboard settings:
    FSB Strap: 1333

    CPU Voltage: 1.7
    CPU PLL Voltage: 1.5
    FSB Termination Voltage: 1.2
    DRAM Voltage: 1.5
    North Bridge Voltage: 1.41
    South Bridge Voltage: 1.05
    Clock Over-Charging Voltage: AUTO

    CPU Line Load Calibration: Enabled
    CPU Voltage Reference: AUTO
    North Bridge Voltage Reference: AUTO
    CPU Spread Spectrum: Disabled
    PCIE Spread Spectrum: Disabled

Hoping to move on to the Gigabyte X38 DQ6 next with ~1.9vcore to play with and then on to LN2

wow that is actually really nice overclock considering that your cpu voltage is limited at 1.7v.. im sure that your new Gigabyte X38 DQ6 will yield even better numbers once you'll able to really crank up the voltage.. looking forward on that

nice clocks for the vcore (1.672?) it should really perform with 1.9v. if you could get the card over 650 core it would give you a good boost too.

    Probably 1.69v actually^

You definately need to put those card clocks up too.... I can top that 05score with 4.5ghz conroe and single 2900XT on air. May also be a driver problem??

    nah man

the F1's are far from it

they are made to handle different loads and to manage pulldowns better so if anything it would probably spend most of its time basically empty if you know where i'm getting at

That was just pulling down but this P5E3 Deluxe and CPU have a very low cold bug. I'm not completely sure what the cold bug is cause my multimeter is a bit dodgy but I reckon it's close to -160C if not lower.

I went to 5.1Ghz as a quick test then swapped out for the X38T-DQ6 but things went a bit weird. I'll have another run this weekend.

Didn't get a chance to do any real testing last weekend. I think that in trying to find the cold bug it may have transitioned though.

hopefully that GB board has OVP removed otherwise you're stuck with low vcore

you might want to try the earliest possible bios for P5E board as some had a bug and were able to provide up to 2.4v for CPU EEK

    OMG ! -160C coldbug ...
As dinos said, you could easily crush a WR ... Imagine the X38 DQ6 "feeding" the cpu with more than 1.9Vcore ... Really nice
Waiting for some more results ...
