higher resolutions?

so i just got a brand spankin new samsung 2232bw 22" widescreen monitor, a huge upgrade from my 17in CRT. i am used to playing games at 1280x1024, but now it's 1680x1050 all day all night

i was surpised that when i jumped in a game of cod4 at this higher resolution, at medium settings i only dropped about 5-10 fps, which was very nice. i saw a significant drop in framerate with the higher res. in tf2, but it's still above 30 so it's playable.


anyway my question is how can i get higher framerates at this higher resolution? itsn't resolution dependant on your ram?

Nope it's all GPU. Graphics driver options and in-game options tweaking may help.
