    Everything

    My stability is usually 1M->8M->wPrime(both)->SuperPrime->RMMS->AOD 15 mins->Cinebench->AM3->2k6->2k1->Prime95 in-place large FFT 20 mins->5 hr gaming->Prime95 1hr30mins->Memtest.

That's on builds I only play around with like this one. 24/7 I stress it a lot more before calling it stable. Plus I don't accept temps near 55C if I can run lower and keep voltages low.

lol yah. Been out of the loop when it comes to stability tests on multi cores. Only remember Superpi and prime95. Had to search on what the heck wprime was and i need to check what superprime is lol. Gonna run OCCT overnight now i guess and try higher tomorrow.
So far my temp is 25C idle and 38-40C load lol.

KTE I read that thread over on the MSI official forums. Whew, that mod jumped on you like you owned him money.

Anywho, grats on edging your way up past 2.7. I know you have been working hard at it.

Is there a beta BIOS floating about like 113 that would work on the K9A2 CF? If so where might it be? I have that mobo incoming.

I think I am going to run Prime 95 on mine a good while for each successful OC step I make.

Nice KeZzZu. Not to hurt your feelings but I don't really care about figures or race 'em. I just run tests to compare different platforms and for general knowledge.

    So X2 vs K10h vs C2D vs C2Q

Seeing what Phenom does in comparison to Q6600. Cus there's no Yorkies around yet and Q6600 is all that's left to compete with 9500/9600. But if you want to just compare so you can optimize further, I have done 2.8GHz benches around.

Oh you read that one too. He's admin but I read a few times that he seems to act quite strange at times. All I did is tell him the issues and he starts going crazy.

TBH like I posted 1st page or so, 2.9GHz was max and that I got first try. Never been close to it since but been at 2.86GHz regular. Now its just that somehow the system is getting more and more stable at higher frequencies, the more you run in like a "burn in".

Like today it would not bootup at 201MHz HT ref. but yesterday I had ran it at 2.77GHz pretty much all day and benched 2.8GHz. Those were bootup values. But if you leave it running on 210MHz HT, then 235HT then higher slowly, the longer you keep it running the further it gets stronger and stronger. No more voltage needed.

I think it's the same BIOS for my board and yours. But make sure and check with MSI and ask them for the latest and they should give it you.

This is my K9A2 Platinum HT ref. limit- 396HT: http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=278647

I don't have heat/voltage issues 2.7GHz run 45C 1hr20min P95 in-place large FFT load. Run stock volts on all parts yet.

Pointless putting volts on for me if it 'aint going past 3GHz.

There are guys here who've benched 2.9GHz on Phenom.

Yeah- I've even posted about the CPU score there- it's right there IMO (per clock of course- unfortunately the clocks aren't getting high enough).

How much of a hit do ya take by having different core speeds(I know Core 0 is a bad clocker for you LM)?

For complete 3DMark run it varies, sometimes it's running tests mostly on higher clocked cores and sometimes on lower clocked . I noticed that core 0 is preferred by most single threaded apps, but not always .... I had one run with core 0 and 3 @2520MHz, core 1,2 @2640MHz which gave me 13764 points. If you compare it to all 4 cores @2640MHz result - 14386 points - it's massive difference. It's a result of running all game tests on slower cores though. CPU test wasn't that much off .
On the other hand the 2 runs from my previous link which are different only by Core 0 lower clock aren't that far off (14006 vs 14273). All because Game tests were using Core 2 mostly!! It's a gamble with single threaded software!! We need some clever tool to prioritize Cores for applications or proper Multi-Threaded games .

Well it's a nice feature of the 790/AOD to allow different speeds for a bad core.

Try a crap card like mine and you'll see your CPU score drop quite a bit.

My RAMs were running 4-4-4-4 11 1T 472MHz when I ran 2k6 and it hit around 3840. I don't want to check right now but that's very close to the CPU score if not exact. And that was 2600-2615MHz (AFAIR) in XP 32-bit. A quick check and yep here it was:

I can bench ~2.72 3D all cores. But you never know, I may just run 2-3-4 of those cards very soon if I get bored. Depends if I can get the necessary PSU to. Only thing I hate about it is it takes too long and I don't usually wait that long for no reason. What does Q6600 get at that speed?

I've posted them a few posts back. Around 10-11 posts back, I'm sure you've seen them you posted straight after asking about DRAM voltage.

The chip I have boots 2.7GHz pretty easy from BIOS. I'll try only oc 3-2-1 cores now but I doubt it because I'm told mine has the TLB bug and so AOD randomly locks it up upon opening and so on. Even at 2.2GHz. So I make minimum to no use of OD. Most of the time I don't touch it.

    Wprime 32M at 2.7GHz is sub 16s.
    1M was .. I don't remember. Close to 27s.
    Pifast was sub 43s.

hmm odd. my Wprime32m at 2.6ghz is 15.5s, i'd expect 2.7 to hit 15s or so.

Can you post a screeny with wprime/clocks?

That's lower than what I've been seeing.

K10 is one weird CPU .I guess there is a lot to be polished, both in the design and BIOS/chipsets fronts.

If you can get high NB, you can beat most scores of someone with lower NB.

High HT wins in GPU benches. We're talking 400-600 points in 25k alone from 1x to 4x HT multi.

heres my wprime at 2.64ghz. Vista business x64, 8gb ram, cpu 1.35v

Edit: First pic was a tad small. Put a larger version up. I get 15.992 at 2.53ghz.

Well Ricey, thanks for the post. This is good to compare.

I always want to see the "differences" in performance. My chip has been slower than most so far as in I have lower RAM timings/higher speeds than people and yet same CPU MHz but slower times in time calc benches stock. So I'm curious.

Your on Vista? Isn't Vista meant to be slower on wPrime?

Your 2640MHz 1920/1920MHz 480 5-5-5-15 2T time is faster than mine at 2640MHz 2000/2000MHz 480 4-4-4-4 1T. I'm pretty sure although I'll run the same MHz/timings and post the ss to show you a comparison.

That I can't understand as you have same MB too!

You're not on 64bit are you?

Because that would explain why it's faster. 64-bit perfs better with them.
