no special batch.. 3rd 3870 @ 1ghz+ core/1.3ghz+ mem @ stock/air cooling

GPU speed though.. either he is using a BIOS that allows him to set a good 1.35v or more, or hes vmodded the core.

after vgpu/vmem i got it to 1090core/1400mem

my HD3650 on stock bios only just hit 975/1100 on stock bios, I wish it was reference to push it more...
Probably go faster than my aforementioned 3850. =/

yeh i got it to 1.1ghz/1.4ghz.. but i was expecting more out of it..

i gave up.. probably if id spend more time.. 1150/1450

temps were really low for such clocks

Didnt work, I specified this.
Memory recognition was at 256mb, i have 512mb. (my card is none reference)

The card is a Gainward HD3850 512MB GDDR3. I can not use the "unlocked" bios as seen above due to the memory allocation on that bios being only 256mb, and I get some horrid vga warping going. Worse than a NES that's crashed.

I figured that my card is also locked in the bios, as I can not break 740/922 without artifacting, or crashing my games...

If anyone could help, that would be extremely awesome, because i'm dissapointed after I managed to OC my HD3650 to 1010/1100 without crashing... and 740/922 is just weaksauce. Also, does anyone else find that OC's read wrong on GPU-z?

Yeah, but none for a gainward card. Mine is none reference, so surely these wouldnt work?
I already tried editing my current Bios (RBE) like i did for my 3650...
This just refused to work.

doesnt have to be gainward bios even if nonreference pcb

any of those bioses except for the gddr4 one should work on your 3850

You sure?
I spent at least 2 hours flashing and using different bios's, included a modded version of mine, my bios is a very late version...

VER010.081.001.000.000000 according to GPUz

Could you advise me on the "most sensible" bios to use?

yes/positive

theyre all using the same bios.. just different versions/clocks/mem timings/etc

doesnt have to be the latest version

All daily speeds and settings.
3dmark06 score: 13115.
I'm pleased with this budget card. (only cost me 47 euro)

if id have 512 3850 id try the:

asus 730/950
his 735/980

and see which offers the highest clocks/performance

whats your memory/ns.. samsung ?

sorry to put you through all that..

if no other bios works on your 3850 select "change to these values" save/flash bios

your clocks remain the same just overdrive max clocks @ 1100/1587

then use overdrive to find your 3850s oc max

post high rez pic of the back of your 3850 and post it up here.. someone will help you with pencil mod

Can anyone help me to find a pencilmod for my Gainward 3850 512MB

At the moment the Card runs at 850/1125 (1,2V) on Wather.
