    Q6600/G0 24-7 numbers.

So I got my Q fired up in a Blood Iron and a Tuniq Tower and it looks like the best i can do @ default volts (this is my new office rig, must be 24-7 bulletproof)

    is 3.3ish...

I pulled some superPi at 3.8+ but for solid as a rock performance, is 3.3 about average for these chips?

Talk to the EMS guys and tell them to leave it on. :P

I did that for a couple guys that wanted to run their computers 24/7. I made them a deal tho. They had to run F@H 24/7 and I left it on at night and the weekends for them. They were also ductless splits tho.. so it didn't affect the entire building.

    3.78ghz 24/7 @ 1.5875v I believe.

I can't get anything above this stable w/ 4 gigs. I've never tired 2 sticks. I've booted w/ 4.005, though i can only run superpi.

    Oh and I forgot..

    1.264 - 3.2 GHz 24/7 F@H Air on the same Mobo.

Don't have the spare cash to push it if the mobo blows and the vdroop when I was pushing for 3.6 GHz was more than I'd like to see.

Never hits 60C in a 25-28C room on a full load 24 hour prime test.

I run my Q6600 GO at (only) 3ghz 24/7 ( 9 x 333FSB ) for all purposes besides gaming, if I start to game I love to have each Mhz available and load OC 2 profile via the bios... 3.825Mhz then, 9 x 425 need 1.52 volts to get there, but the WC setup keeps the CPU's cores all times under 60°C no worries there... CPU is sitll in the P5K Dlx which heats up tremendously due to the HOT mosfets, maybe the Maximus will convince me to go a bit higher 24/7 though I don't need all that power for just surfing and co... and I love to keep my mobo's for a longer period now then half a year...
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

    charlie,
As you know, stock voltage of Core2 CPUs varies a bit, (~1.175-1.35V) what is your VID (stock bios voltage or VID in CoreTemp)?

    3.3GHz @ 1.25V'ish is probably about average, expect 3.6GHz @ ~1.4V, 3.7-3.8V @ 1.5V with bumped GTLref.
You were not supposed to see this.

    Hey largon

    Mine's L723A vid=1,2875 needs 1,525 to be prime95 stable at 3,6Ghz

    Best OC 24/7 is 3,56Ghz vcore=1,475

btw what is bumped GTLref ? you mean cpu vreference and nb vreference ?

what are your numbers ? i tried lots of settings but still no luck to get it stable at 3,6 with less vcore

    regards

    andressergio,
Yup, "CPU Reference Voltage" in P5K bios = GTL reference
Can't say about the appropriate settings on P5K as my Abit IP35 Pro has different setting scales.

And btw, usually bumping GTL ref only helps to gain higher FSB, since you're stable at 3.6GHz @ 1.525v already then it's likely GTL is not the issue.
Not every GØs do 3.6GHz at all.

    edit:
    Both Q6600s (L724A786) I've had did 3.7GHz @ under 1.5v (1.47v & 1.45v) measured, with ~1.0v GTL.

    edit2:
    Is your's a GØ?

Everyone expects all G0 chips to be amazing overclockers. Like overclocking any other generation of chip, it's all luck of the draw. I got stuck with a B3 from Newegg, lapped it and run 3.411 Ghz 24/7 @ 1.35v. Primed 3610 for 4 hours and working on 3.73Ghz currently @ 1.52v. I think people just expect too much from all G0s, B3s can be just as good but are overlooked. I think my point is that regardless of B3 or G0 its still luck of the draw with the chip.

Here is a screen shot of 3.7 I was working on yesterday..B3

I've been doing some more testing and it looks like 3.6gHz at 1.43v is solid too. But the office is cool this morning, like 70F and when it warms up this afternoon we'll see.

Which chipset are you referring to? My mATX board is based on G33 (G33M-DS2R) and the chipset gets too hot to touch, and that is why I replaced it with an HR-05 (which originally didn't fit under the PSU, but after a small adjustment with the hammer, it did )

Charlie: look close at my pic above:
above the HS fan see the side of the small fan?
Thats a must for the mofsets.
Also I stuck a fan on the mofsets behind the HS that you can't see in that pic and one on the NB that does show in that pic..
They really are a must with these boards..now moving huge amounts of air but making sure the heat doesn't build up.
