    How are they doing this?

    Hello, I'm about to mount a BIPII in the top of my TJ07. When I was looking around to find a way to attach the rad/fan I found out about this site who claims they mount the rad/fan without "No external blemishes".

    When I am looking at the close-up pictures I cannot understand how they attach the fans to the top mesh. Take a look:

    Are they really mounting the fans from the side through the mesh? Is that even possible/secure?

    Any advice would be much appreciated.

    Well I have three HDDs screwed into wire mesh and mounted in my PC.

    So I don't see why not, I mean the rad and fans are WAY lighter then the HDDs.

    Wire mesh is very handy, if you get the right kind and play with it, with a pair of pliers, wire snips and some patience and thought.

    I modded it from this pic, but you can get the idea.

    Thank for the answers!

    If I understand correctly these guys are just "hanging" the fan/rad combo on top of the bolts, which are attached from the side of the mesh. It seems to be little risky to mount them in that way and I'm also concerned if vibrations from the fans somehow could cause some problems. Is there any way to attach the fan with some bolts/fittings I don't know of?

    The ladderman solution is a *very* nice alternative. Unfortunately I don't have the equipment to make the brackets. Using the mesh for attachment could be a easy solution for me.

    @Xilikon: Sorry, I'm not.

    It can be done very simply:
    - Flatten out the inside tabs that hold the fans
    - Screw the fans in from the side (very sturdy if you actually use some drill bit action)
    - attach the radiator respectively
    - remove excess tab material from shroud (or fold it inward as shown in picture)
    Should be pretty sturdy in the end...

    Good tip, I'll give it a try. I guess the folding of the mesh, like you said, will make it more stable. Thanks!
