Still not good enough bud! Looks absolutely amazing. I do think that the GeForce 9800s will be able to pull this off, at least in SLi.

Wow lol I wonder if the creators of Crysis can run this haha. I don't believe the demo looks worse than the real one. I think this is DX10 with Very High on everything with Full AA and all. I'll just have to wait till the release to believe.

It's just like FarCry, I'm thinking shader 3.0 and HDR in that case of course that wasn't even supported at launch and added later on when the cards supporting this got more common. IQ was improved quite a lot later on and it looks like Crysis will be no different but the settings and IQ is already there but not the hardware that can easily run it. Anyways, that's what pictures Crytek team, we can't talk about this is the final game we'll be seeing at launch as it will most likely get huge changes within 1 year from launch even. I wish other manufacturers would follow Crytek's example, especially EA.

Staying power. With those investments in graphics the game would still have its appeal even after 2 years. Not until Crytek begins its next project can it be truly outmatched.

no need to complain about release date now... as a few months ago everyone with high-end rigs would have run it as slideshow. and so it is for a few months forward with these settings omg!!

hope D10E or something will make it playable at more than 40 fps someday

They probably didn't want to put people off the game by making the "very high" unplayable by everybody, so they've saved the über settings for a rainy day

Those screens are amazing, that's what we've all been waiting for...

What the hell can you say? Just amazing screens, just amazing... chocking and breathtaking, specially pic2.

The best chance to get this playable at normal AA/AF (like 4x/8x) as soon as possible is to get an 790FX motherboard and wait for 4 HD3870 cards or 2, 3 or quad HD3870X2 cards. With quad HD3870X2 cards I think you have enought power to maxx everything here.

Hmm, has anyone noticed that AA settings does not impact much on performance in crysis?
I play with the so called dx10mod in xp at 1600x1200 and i have tested different aa modes from 2xaa-8xaa and i must say that it is playable, very fluidly gameplay.
At, 2xaa i get like 20fps. at 4xaa it says 17 and at 8xaa it says 14-15 and like i said it is playable. what is up wiht the fsp counter or is it just me? using fraps.

Think in % not in numbers, it's only cuz of the already slow speed you don't see a big difference.

    20/17 = ~17.6%, 20/15 = ~33.3% etc.

Thats Crysis for you. While you can get low FPS it can still be playable. Surely low 20's is what I'd stop at anything lower it starts affecting you IMO so far in the Demo.

Surely though recommend just dropping a few settings and living with slightly lower quality til an even faster GPU comes out to help with the graphics power thats needed for this game.

I see, still if i close down firefox that is taking 320mb of my mems at the moment i gain a little more fps but i am vary impressed how good this game runs even at low fps and with multiple apps in the background. I have tried the sandbox editor and must say that is a blast although it crashes for me sometimes.

I wonder if Core 2 Duo @ 3.75GHz + maxed out 8800GT is able to play it with those killer DX10 mode graphics even in a very low res? Now I'm talking like 1024x768 or so. I think those graphics are so sweet and on my 19" CRT I'd prefer running at a very low res instead of a bit higher res and DX9 mode.

"while running the game in DX9 solved all of our problems and still looked spectacular with everything on high. We even could run DX9 on high at 1920x1200 with a good enough framerate to be comfortable playing nearly the entire time." -IGN

OMG, maybe the game was optimized further from the demo!!

    and

"Whatever ability you become most familiar with, switching between them is easy. You can bind them to whatever keys you'd like, but can also simply use the radial menu brought up with the middle mouse button (default). By the end of single player it'll be second nature."

OMFG YES!! That pissed me off so much in the demo that you couldnt bind the suite powers!!

Damn that looks slick! Almost makes me want to get vista... Almost...

GPU manufacturers need to get a move on and get the new flagship models out so we can actually play this game how it was meant to be played.

tbh the demo screamed farcry, i hope the actual game is better.
