Yeah. Clearly the maximum image quality potential + good FPS of Crysis won't be fulfilled until the next generation. At least NVIDIA and ATi are making "bridges" to the next generation

The ~950 mb figure is representing the memory usage in regards to RAM I believe. There's a separate console command you can input to get the VRAM memory usage as well.

Come early next year we will see 30fps at very high settings. It's inevitable. As much as it sucks that Crytek is basically forcing upgrades, it does the tech world a great deed in helping to ramp up technology evolutions.

uhh you fail to notice that that image is rendered at 16x AA... chances are texture sizes are a bit more manageable.

Nope, but that doesn't automatically make it 16x... or at least I don't think it does.

I just felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of video cards cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced...

Like Oblivion. We probably won't be able to play Crysis maxed out on a high res at 60FPS+ consistent for around a year or so.

For my part I know nothing with any certainty, but the sight of the stars makes me dream.

No way in hell I would consider 1000-2000 in video cards alone just to play this game unless the gameplay lived up to the visuals...

Having said that, the 2nd to last picture is amazing

For the best too, as Oblivion still is looking mighty fine after 19months. Still this could be a problem for Crysis if replay beyond online is not there.

Some custom maps that you can play with the demo version.
Seth Island-it only shows some engine capabilities.
    Frozen Island
Yon can find some cool maps here
The Sandbox editor is such a powerfull tool, making it available for non-developers is realy nice.

LE:Played a bit with the sandbox editor did you see that it has 16k resolution for textures?
From what I could tell we play on very high with 4 or 8k.

Before you complain about lag, think about Jesus. He lagged three days before respawning.
