    Testing memory

Been asked a million times i am sure, but for us noobs...what is the best testing methodology?

Does the embedded Vista memory diagnostic tool perform a good enough task?...the advanced option runs for several hours, how about Windows Memtest?

Anyone have a better idea what tools and programs should be used?

Memtest86 in dos is a classic but a nice one.

Furthermore memtest in windows, Orthos or Prime 95 large FTT's, SuperPi 32M and OCCT are all great tools to test your memory.

memtest86+ is popular because it removes all other variables within windows such as corrupt operating systems which WILL give u windows testing errors even if your ram is fine.

what is the XS standard for how many passes of Memtest86+?

Memtest for stability, but Everest for performance.

I would say memtest is the way to go for stability.
And as above, Everest for performance indicator.
