I know, but it doesn't change it a lot..People have this figure in the back of their minds of what an item is worth and today they think 2 gig =$100.00
When they see $500.00 they run away..
Also think on the average guy. He can tuck away $100.00 in 2-3 weeks but saving $500.00 takes a while.
Then there's the performance increase. How much is the person gaining from DDR3?
I'm far from an expert on memory but from what I've seen there aren't huge gains so far/ Some yes, but not night and day like we saw with DDR1 to DDR2..

well its quite funny, 2x1gb high end ddr3 today cost as much as 2x1gb high end ddr2 costed a year ago. the only problem is that atm ddr2 prices are sooooooo low that in contrast ddr3 looks way too expensive. and since intel still uses the ancient fsb bus the extra bandwidth of ddr3 is bottlenecked mostly. as soon as csi is here i suspect ddr3 to blow away ddr2 big time

    Hi Pal:
Can't argue with your logic. When people see a huge gain to be made then they will pony up the money for DDR3 but not until then.

But at the same time they placed PCI Express x16 slots too close to each other so it is very difficult to use extreme-cooling on graphics cards

    LOL

    You guys are hilarious.

Did I mention that I'm almost 7 feet tall and nearly 300lbs?

Just picking up a board in my hands is dangerous, if they have big 2 inch long juicy capacitors all over the place, I have a tendancy to break them off with my thumbs...

    :P

Hence why I love solid caps... So short and not very easy to break.

    How much?
"To exist in this vast universe for a speck of time is the great gift of life. Our tiny sliver of time is our gift of life. It is our only life. The universe will go on, indifferent to our brief existence, but while we are here we touch not just part of that vastness, but also the lives around us. Life is the gift each of us has been given. Each life is our own and no one else's. It is precious beyond all counting. It is the greatest value we have. Cherish it for what it truly is."
