Putting the rad and fans in a refrigerator?

    I got a small fridge given to me (24" x 24" x 24"). Do you think it's cooling capability can handle a Pa 120.3 and CPU/NB/GPU setup?

I'd put just the fans and the rad inside the fridge.

Condensation could be a worry since we run evaporative cooling in the summer. My ambient summer temps are as high as 30 C. (high humidity). My comp is on 24/7 so I wouldn't have really cold water to the comp.

It's a way to reduce my ambient temps a lot in the summer.

How are you going to run the hose into the fridge?
If you bugger up the door seals it'll perform like a fridge where the kids keep openning it and warm up.

Cut holes in the side, coils are in the back. Two 1" holes, a 1/2" hole for wires and seal it up. So it will stay closed. Thats the thing, is the fridge powerful enough to remove the heat from the rad? It's rated at 1.5 amps, no info on it's thermal capabilities. Looks like a cheap dorm fridge (has a small place for 2 ice trays).

Was hoping someone else has tried this before. Don't have room inside my case for a ThermoChill PA 120.3, so why not use this as my rad case, hehe.

I did this a few years ago. It failed badly lol.

I ended up drilling holes in the side of the fridge for the tubing.
    Then sealed it up.

In the end the fridge was not able to provide enough cooling. If fact it turned into a hotbox.

I used a brand new double sized mini fridge. "was a taller version" I could not fit the rad into the normal size mini fridge.

Can you see any spec on the compressor? I'm sure one of the phase guys could point you in the direction with that.
They'll probably advise you to build phase with it's bits or buy phase though.

I'm no compressor guru but the one that was in the fridge I had was tiny.

The only cooling surface inside the mini fridge I used was the ice tray itself.
I sat my res in there lol. Looked cool as hell but was a total failure.

I think it was dripping water from condensation as well. I seem to remember
    towels all over the place.
Though I may have just made a mess disconnecting all the hoses n such.

Thanks, looks like it's a no go.

Reading that info, a dorm fridge can do about 29 watts of cooling. We need 15+ for the CPU right? So in a closed fridge, it would just get hot.
