What language is this?, Swedish?....can anyone translate. The layout and general design looks exactly the same as the X38 models. In fact the X48 chipset is supposed to the simply binned higher, for speed. I'd say the only real differences is in bios and outer box, i doubr any new features or revisions to the PCB have been made compared to the X38 models...but we'll soon see.

but, it is going to be a while before the X48 is available in the USA.

here is a quote that i found:

The X48-DQ6 has 'official' support for the 1600 MHz FSB and should arrive by the end of the year.

Maybe they're pulling an Asus: Using the X38 filler board to debug. Figure out the problems, tweak, drop in the X48, and PROFIT.

Yikes, what do you people think?
1.Keep the X38-DQ6 and have poor (Max 1100mhz) memoryperformance while using 4 slots and be mad over that.
2.Keep the order of ASUS Maximus Formula SE since that board seems to have better memoryperformace while using 4 slots.
3.Wait and keep the hope up for better memoryperformace for 4 slotusage on the X48-DQ6 since that board supose to be DDR2 and at the same time loose the opertunity to get the limited edition of the Formula SE?

Yep, not sure if i like those latching mechanisms though, prefer the old design, the lettering "PCI Express 2.0"...is that also written on the X38?

It is just faster, over one tenth of a second in SP 1M for one, 3DMark01 is over 43 points higher, so imagine how much faster real world applications would run, just boggles the mind. Until the BIOS's are tuned, there is not a real difference yet between the two chipsets besides "official" 1600FSB support.

I wish I could have been there but my daughter is undergoing treatment for cancer at this time and that is only the tip of the iceberg for what has happened to the family these past four months.

my max OC with QX9650 is only 460MHz FSB ... and very bad RAM timings ... on Asus Maximus Extreme i can use CL7 at 1800MHz, on this Giga board is stable 1800MHz only at CL9!
