    T_M catching up to Hipro5 :) 20,894 3DMark06

    I spent the day with:

    QX6850 on LN2 (Mousepot Rev1) - 1.92V and down to -145C
8800 Ultra on DICE (kayl pot) - 1.662V/2.25V
    Gigabyte GA-P35T-DQ6 (vCore mod)
    Kingston DDR3
    Windows XP SP2

I've been trying for a few sessions to catch up with Hipro5 in single card 3DMark'06.
Previously only had been using DICE for CPU, but today i moved on to LN2.

The DQ6 series of motherboards from Gigabyte currently have a vCore OVP during POST that kicks in around 1.85-1.9V (real), but after booting you can push the vCore up as desired.
I only tested today up to 1.92V (real), and didnt spend much time tweaking or even pushing clocks.
My time was cut short by LN2 running out (about 10L for the day) and with my last few dregs i ran a 3DMark'05 and netted a #10 on hwbot score

run the other benchmarks too, I will be joining the 88Ultra thing pretty soon with E6850 and need someone to bench agains!

I experienced the same prob on compressorcooling and ln2 with my ds3p - >1.85V set in bios resulted in no boot...making it with easytune worked pretty well.

    Thanks guys

The vid card is still hitting OVP even though i've attempted Hipro's OVP mod.
I think with slightly lower temps it might squeeze some more.
Didnt even play with Shaders yesterday, just left them linked.
Literally only got that one full run for the whole afternoon of benching.

Definately need a better load holding CPU pot.
While i can make it swing back and forth at whim, it just takes way too much work.
Pouring a small pour/splash every 20 seconds or so.
Although its nice to be able to drop the pot 10-20C in about 10s just prior to CPU test
Thats why i ran DICE on GPU.

More fine tuning on CPU to come, i know it definately has more as after the 3D i did a quick wPrime at 5110MHz at same volts.

RAM speed was slow. I really paid it no attention and just went for safety.
I think it was somewhere around 625MHz and at timings.
Benchable on Asus P5K3 Deluxe was 750MHz 5-8-5-13 1T, but on Gigabyte boards it doesnt hit such nice timings, and i cant select 1T in BIOS AFAIK.

    almost there

i'd hate to see what George's backup score is like

keep pushing where is LN2 on the card

Gigabyte boards CAN select 1T in bios you just need to look carefully lol >> pretty slack Tim haven't tweaked your memory there dude

    go Team.AU go

When you've benched subzero LN2 on CPU and DICE on GPU, on a board you've used only twice come back to me about spending time tweaking memory

Anywho, 30L and 20kg arrives at my doorstep tomorrow morning

Hipro's OVP mod needs more then just soldering a VR, alteast that's what explained in the thread. Nice runs nonetheless, good to have non sponsered guys reaching top spots.

hmmmm not sure where you're going with this comment Tim but i don't like the sarcastic undertone there mate

tweaking memory and juggling temps are two different things. Spending time on a mobo on couple of occasions i can understand and my comment was of friendly manner or does your computer not display smilies

my comments on RAM refers to a couple of settings that can be tightened there (PL, WPD, TRRD & better off going with tighter main timings and lower frequency) , also booting with tighter timings on GB boards allows to select tighter subtimings in memset too >> this may improve your results a little but anyways it escapes me why you would say what you did in a PM yet respond like this in public >> these are just some ideas on the table for next bench session that i originally had in mind....why take it the way you did is odd to me considering our association and all

i made a mistake on the 1T comment thinking it was X38 chipset board. I have P35T here and last time i used it (2 months ago) CMD was not selectable

From my reading of Hipro's mod post (http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...32&postcount=1) it is only a 100K VR to ground, then trim till resistance is 5.1K.
Can you help me with any further instructions, because it would really help

Thans GHZ, will post more sounds tomorrow when i go full pelt at it again

oohms, nah im not going to bother. If its anything like the X38 OVP mods i'd have to go buy 3 smd caps, and solder them onto the board in really small locations.
Instead, after the session on Thursday i removed the permanent ground i'd soldered the VR to and replaced that wire with an aligator clip.
When im rebooting im just going to remove the clip from a ground each time.

    very nice score bro.
i tried myself to match hipro5's scores - but that seems nearly impossible..

if you are interested in my setting for comparisons, here we go:

    11x429 q6850
asus commando (i love that board - its still great to compete with the top benchers with just this old crappy p965 board )
    ultra on 918/2322/1210 1,56v/1,51v

Tim you don't need 1T to get this board to go quick on RAM

here is what i tested last night....to give you an idea where subtimings can be worked harder

btw i could bench with PL=8 on water last night all the way to 580Mhz which is where chip limit was so not 100% whether a little more could have been squeezed out....but PL=8 so high is fairly decent for a Gigabyte board

Today i was running these Elpidas at:

    742MHz - 5-8-8-5-14 - 5-35-8-18-16-2-7-5-5-16383T 2T

That was until i ran into problems with many other things
I pretty much know where these RAM can run on subtimings, but today i found that the DIMM slots on the P35T boards really make a difference, i was running the pink ones, but green works best.
PL=7 was workign fine at 681+ MHz, but i was only testing at 425 FSB today because that = 5100MHz
