I have built a few systems with antec 900s this year. I just bought my first 690 for a system in the house. For the price (40 after rebate) compared to $110 for the 900, there is no question 690 is the better value.
out of the box though the 900 has better cooling + the window in side panel. I found the 900 to be quiet on low fan settings. Ability to change fan settings is a great feature, no more need for fan controler. 690 was quiet as well stock. However needs a fan or 2 more to get good cooling.
I really liked the look of the 690 over the 900 though. Another plus for the 690, I found hiding cables and orginizing cables to be easier in this case compared to the 900. Anyway, they are both very roomy to me. I would not turn down either case. Very glad we are seeing quality cases under $100 now. It use to be non existant.

Wow,
That Antec 1200 is just asking for 4 120mm intakes! I remember seeing a 900 mod where they used a slim DVD drive in the lowest section of the case to fit 3 120mm fans, and this same principal could be used for the 1200.
I too would vote for the 690, simply due to its ability to house so many fan options.

Thanks for your opinions guys. I think most probably I'll go for CM 690 its roomier inside. Actually I wanted to go for 690 at first but after checking the price difference,I might as well get a 900. Just for your reference, the price for both cases in Japan would be :
Antec 900 - 15500 yen
CM 690 - 12800 yen
The price difference is around 3000yen. Since CM690 is just released I dont think the price will drop anytime soon.

I have 3 fans on the front of my 900, but I didn't do the slimline. I just bought a USB external DVD/CD drive.
I just ordered CM 690 and will be getting it soon. Thank you for all the advice. Hopefully I will get better thermal performance after switching from my Soprano.

This thing looks a lot better in person than it does in pics...
Nothing against the Antec Nine-Hundred, but the opposite is sorta true, IMHO.
Anyway, I'll think you'll be V happy with the CM-690!

After few days with CM 690, I'm quite dissapointed with the thermal performance. With all fans loaded up with fanbus, my CPU temp went up a few degrees. It is also noisier compared to my Soprano because of the number of fans. I guess the vents are causing the noise. Going to mod it when I have free time. AT stock performance, I would say the performance is quite bad considering the amount of fans available.

I found the supplied black fans noisy, also you can not use high or mid speed fans on the side or front intakes, the fan blades sit too close to the grilling.

More fans don't always equal better temps. Need to have the airflow adjusted as well. If you have not enough intake or not enough exhaust temps can suffer. Also if the airflow is all mixed up instead of a smooth in and out it'll affect temps as well because of the created dead zones.
