Have you finished it up yet ?

It's nice to see the 3D competition growing up, to be precise some serious competition.

I have a feeling that that's just the warm up

    Well done NewBeetle-san

Great results. Here we can see how much 2005 is CPU limited . I'm hitting 28k with higher clocked 2900pro 873/2332 @ 4160mhz CPU , he reached 33k with 1.4ghz more on CPU great

Yeah that would be murder on dual 16X, still a great result from NewBeetle. I thought he was only interested in Pi, it's nice to see him on top of some 3D action tearing it up

Hmmm.......To be honest, I didn't gain anything from ASUS Blitz Extreme (P35 - DDR3) to ASUS P5E3 WS Pro (X38 - DDR3).....NOT EVEN one single mark.....
.....and keep in mind that Blitz Extreme uses CrossLink chip to split the x16 to 2 x 8 so there must be some kind of latency in there too.....

SO, where is the gain of the "straight" 2 x 16 of the X38.....?.....
Might be the mobo P5E3 WS Pro?......I have TWO of them acting the same.....Bios of them?.....I have changed three of them.....What else?....
    A good thing about X38 is that plays my rams at Cas 6 - 5 - 5 - 13 and tight subtimings, at almost 910MHz (1820MHz DDR) and Performace Level 5 ......

that's what i am finding with Gigabyte X38 hipro

really likes tight timings and clocks the RAM higher as well

    this is DDR2 board

yet to receive the DDR3 one

hipro I wish I knew...Blitz has to be better than 16x/4x of P5K no? Strange that P5E3 is not performing better than Blitz, I wonder what thats about. At the cost some of these boards are reaching they better be working correctly.

It is a surprise that such a score goes out by complete stock VGA cooling!

No VGPU mod and no VGPU tweaking.
    ATITool indicates 1.15V VGPU.

I also have the same idea of you.
2005 considerably depends on the performance of CPU.

Wow, that's a nice establishment for VGAs on stock cooler. Yup, 3DMark05 sure loves CPU performance. Going from Opteron 165 @ 2.8GHz to C2D @ 3.75GHz gained about 1k with GFX card at same clocks.

I think 2900 PRO is a very good 3D board and high cost-performance.

I made GPU clock up from 850 to 950.
But the improvement of score was just a little.

Now, this is my new LN2 container for VGA.

    Concept :
    1. The produced cost is low
    2. Production is easy
    3. It has generality
    4. The improvement is facilitated by separating the buffer and the tank.

    I named it "Hybrid LN2 Funnel Mark1"
Of course, I did the design and produce.

the Copper buffer and the Aluminum tank

Very very good bench there NewBeetle-san

Get your VGAs cranked up as high as you can ( assuming that your temps allow that ) and rock some ranks

    p.s. You don't have any DDR-3 board yet ?

    Team Japan are true overclockers
low budget affair and monster clocks
    i like that

i'm sure it would help if you somehow manage to make the alu side that goes onto copper a lot thinner to improve copper thermal transfer maybe

but CPU blocks are a bit harder to make well & cheap at the same time

i have seen some interesting designs recently where the ALU tube had a hole with a space for a copper insert which i assume would be also cheap enough and probably much better performance as you have the copper on the core and LN2/DICE in direct contact

Very nice result NewBeetle-san. Indeed 05 is very CPU bound, especially on 16x/4x.

This is my first and quick test for VGA LN2 cooling.
My targets is 1100MHz GPU clock.
And I have no DDR-3 board.
It is still too exclusive for me.

    950MHz is on stock VGPU:1.15V.
GPU limit seems about 1000MHz under LN2 on stock VGPU.
To tell the truth, I don't know how to VGPU mod.....
Please tell me the best way of VGPU mod.

    This container is prototype.
I will add the improvement little by little.

I was a little disappointed because the improvement of the GPU clock did not bring the great result so much.
However, I want not to rely on CPU alone.
I want to review various setting, and to improve score.
