I have a 6600 ES i bought from someone on here actuly for CPU that was going into my original C2D build that flopped, so Ill use that, and as far as video goes i am indeed going to wait for RV670..

Gonna keep the good ole 1900XT for now, will OC it even see if i cant squeeze more out of it though as ive had it at stock since i got it. As far as replacement Mobo goes I may get on board the DFI LP P38 bandwagon that seems to be rolling in the Intel forum, as it would apear that X38 is pretty much a waste of time if not useing DDR3, doubly so with X48 replaceing it soon.

Wooo me likes, when is the DFI 790FX comming out then? is the Digital PVM really better then 10Phase New captacitors seen on other 790FX bords?

And what goes in the back heatsink?, it has 4 screw holes??

Such a clean layout i might add, this is 3x Crossfire or 3x SLI mobo?... guessing Crossfire tripple? Memory is not 2 phase or is controlled via Digital PVM??

Tiny HSF aragment compared to other bords in this series hopefully not gona be an issue with 15W Thermal heat output

Amd were slow to addopt DDR2... intel were year or so ahead in terms of adopting it... we had to wait till socket Am2!!

Hopefully Amd adopts DDR3 when better more affordable sticks come out, DDR2 is best bet for next 6 months or so?

Would believe it's a crossfire setup given its a AMD chipset.. The DDR3 adoption comes with AM3 i believe.

I'm going for the Lanparty next time, no doubt about it.

DFI boards are like vaporware to me until I can actuly see them in stock. Doubly so as their EU/UK distro is non existant or near enough non existant. When is their 790FX actuly due to hit stores ?

Its a long shot i guess but does anyone here know of any retailer at all that still has some Gigabyte 790's left ?, Still looking back into the Intel option but it would be awfully nice to still have the AMD option on the table.

I can only get my hd's to run in native ide mode.
Are you having issues with that?
I tried that sata>ahci thing which apparently is an intel standard - I don't know anything about it but everytime I try to use it I get a bsod before windows can load.
    Any ideas?

I'm really impressed with the motherboard, we just need a new bios.

I'm running my SATA drive in IDE mode. Do you need RAID function or is there other reason as for running SATA in different mode?

I think we can expect new BIOS shortly after official platform launch

Yeah that's what I was thinking with the new bios.

No I'm not running raid. 1x raptor 2x 120gb wd. All are sata2, but I thought if they were running in ide mode they would run slower 133mb/s or whatever it is, instead of sata2 at 300mb/s. I don't know what I'm talking about here but running sata in ide mode just seems a bit sus.

Can you get them in the U.S now?

I'm in Australia and there were only a couple available here, they are very scarce, lots of etailers have them on their sites but I don't think any will be carrying stock.

Let us know how you get on.

No worries about SATA performance. Ide mode is just an emulation for OS driver level so you can install any system without dedicated SATA driver. If you want to install for example XP SP2 on pure SATA drive/controller you need to provide driver disk during installation process. BIOS is emulating IDE interface so you don't need to worry about having FDD in you rig to install OS

yeah, NCIXUS has 5 in stock right now (4 if you subtract mine, however they have more on the way). thing is im deployed to iraq and coming home soon. well i wanted to send it to my fathers house but they needed to call me to verify it. one problem:i shut off my cellphone before i left. so i talked to one of their customer support guys and had them change the mailing address to my billing address (at my duty station back in the states) and put a hold on shipping the order until i got home and in touch with them. work out a little better as ill get to use it a few weeks earlier than had i sent it to my fathers house.

now heres the question, what ram should i use in this bad boy? im liking crucial ballistix tracers and pairing this setup with an X2 5000 Black Edition until Agena becomes available in sufficient quantities.

I'm using Crucials without any problems! Memory oced to 500MHz (1000DDR) at 4-4-4-12-15 2T is giving me around 10.5GB/s in sisoftsandra test. I tried both 2x1GB and 4x1GB on this mobo with same result!

I've been really busy the last few days so I haven't touched mine, but I'm running all 4 slots populated with Team Xtreem 1066. Haven't done any Sandra/Everest benches yet.
I did drop my cpu to 5x multi and got it to boot at 430HTT
