    Gigabyte MA790FX DQ6

Anyone else here ordered one of these ? .. am toying with the idea of going fully ATI/AMD(current setup is ATI vid/Nvidia chipset/AMD 939 proc)and this board is now in stock at Scan so its kinda tempting ...

The thing giveing me pause is that the layout is rather bizzare, and im not realy sure if it actuly makes dual crossfire'ed 2900's imposible or not .. realy hard to tell and Gigabytes website has yet to be updated with the product page yet alone the manual.

I dont think they got it in stock now...I think its possible to use dual 2900 CF , but no triple or quad CF, only if you got single slot cooler, like the new RV670 GDDR3

They have 6 of them in stock as of around 4pm today. I have no interest in tripple or quad CF, only posssibly dual at a latter date.

Been looking around and this board hasnt shown up on Gigabytes web page as yet .. nor has AMDs pages got any mention of 790X chipset. Overall the amount of "Noise" on teh internets about 790X seems to be pretty much non existent.. not sure what kind of omen this is realy but i guess ill find out in a few days.

If you can translate Turkish, I believe one of the forum members from the preview site said the Turkish Gigabyte site had at least had the specs up.

It's quiet on vendors sites because official launch is next month!

Ideally I would like to hold on for MSI version due to layout, but I'm not sure if can resist!

Seems you will get yours a day or two before me so be sure to come back here once you got it up and running and let us/me know first impressions and all that

I have a Mushkin 6400 low latancy 2GB Kit from my very much mothballed(for a number of reasons) C2D build(the remains of which will probibily go up here for sale in the next week or so) so will be testing with that along with stuff from my AMD rig (optical etc). Would have liked to have gotten a Black Edition but well couldnt justify it budget wise so im gonna milk the 4400+ for all its worth.

Looks like a overall positive review there id say, from what i could gather from the garbled translation anyway. And that was a pre production board no less.

I don't care as far as they will dispatch my baby today !

@Macci: Is this board improving mem bandwidth so much compared to 690G as shown in this review?
Any hints regarding tweaking this chipset? Thanks in advance!

Can somebody test this board compared to NF570/590? I heard rumors that AM2+ boards will be few % faster than AM2 with K8 CPU's.

I'm the author of that review and I'm still have doubts about my own results lol I don't really know if I did something wrong in the 690G mobos (it shouldn't as superpi times were OK), but the difference is really big.

btw, i've recived four HD2600XT's samples today, but even with a single slot cooling solution they don't feet The screws from the back of the card make it impossible to run four cards, as u can see in this pic:

I was going to try TriFire now, but it suddenly stoped to work... and now doesn't post :S I'll try it again on monday.
