If they have a little brain they will focus on their DDR2 boards (Bios/performance etc) for some time; DDR3 makes very little sense to buy until next year, it's common sense.

hmmmmmmmmmm...i hope not about not producing an X38 ddr3 board...i was trying to hold out for them...i hope that it is just a "wild" rumor!

EDIT:...just emailed Abit USA sales asking them about the IX38 and the DDR3 version board...interestingly, Abit USA home page only talks about the the DDR2 version...no news just might be "bad" news...i did ask the sales people, in my email, to post in this thread about it...if they don't, i presume they will communicate back with me and then, i will let everyone know what is up.

i've got the feeking that the IX38 Max will end up IX48 Max with the ddr2 quad sometime in November, about 4~5 weeks behind the other X38. Their getting as bad as DFI for late launches.

Yoyotech are showing sold Out as they have no date from abit. originally was 15th then 22nd then

    evidently
Gary Key on Anandtech was saying that it wasn't due to go into production until wc 16th
so add what 2~3 weeks to shipping ?? you'd think that abit could connfirm to yoyotech a 2 week delay, seems they couldn't.

so far...no news from Abit sales...me thinks they are going to jump right to the X48, bypassing the X38 DDR3...disappointing...but then again, that might be worthwhile for abit since DDR3 prices are out of reach for most overclocking enthusiasts.

ROFL, that makes the story even worse than I thought - Abit doesn't even talk to the reps of its own forum?

We aren't abit employees or anything - just regular enthusiasts like you.
I would be surprised if other mobo mfrs non-employed forum Moderators get told a lot about their forthcoming products either.
Certainly abit are pretty tight about new products - we sometimes hear a little bit more than most people (not in this case) but even then often we can't say anything publicly.

I just mentioned Buff as someone who is probably a little closer to the issue than us,
I would be surprised if other mobo mfrs non-employed forum Moderators get told a lot about their forthcoming products either
is correct & normal. What i'm frustrated about is the complete drying up of info. Ok if we were told the lunch had slipped back 2 weeks , we might not be pleased , but have the option to wait or make other plans. At the moment we're just left in limbo.

i've talked to myself about this issue...i told myself that i am jumping ship since Abit has still not answered my email...

you know what...just thought about this again, lack of an answer...possibly these california fires made them abandon their USA headquarters...anyone know where Abit USA is located in california.

EDIT:...just checked at USA abit and they are located in Fremont which is up by San Jose so the fires are not affecting them...BUT...they are moving headquarters in fremont on the 1 & 2 of nov.

I've sent e-mails to the marketing & sales dept etc etc before & never ever got a reply, its really ignorant of them & really pisses me off.

Their techinical support is not bad though, usually get a reply within a couple of days.

I get the feeling that Abit is telling its suppliers these ETA dates to try & make customers hold on, if they said sometime in November people may have already bought an alternative solution, thats my opinion anyway - purely speculative of course.

Whats all your guys take on a board for a Q6600? I really liked the QuadGT but I don't know if I will even be able to swing that kind of cash when it comes out. Is the IP35Pro a solid choice for my quad?

It may be a somewhat trivial, but I wanted the LED's on the back of the QuadGT...
