Mine Abit Ab quad gt mobo is still going like there was no tomorrow since jan/feb, but that is with only a dual core at 500mhz fsb. So i dont think the statemant is valid.

I dont see where you get that statement from, digital pwm is just new, as they perfect it more it will become standard.

My company sells many things, including components from Abit and DFI.
Most of the problems on the newest high-end DFI and Abit boards are caused by the digital pwm.

P35-T2R motherboards seem to be dropping like flies, 7pcs down already from 30pcs total sold units I think.
On broken boards pwm usually makes cracking and popping sound when the board is trying to power up.

Also few Abit QuadGT, IN9-Max and DFI nF680i boards have been changed because similar issues, but the RMA rates are very close to normal on these.

I do not have anything against digital pwm, but I must say I really haven´t seen a burned "traditional" cpu pwm since Gigabyte K8N times.

i burned up one or two digital PWM's on my QuadGT board a few weeks back...i took the HS off and remounted it with nuts and bolts...apparently i turned to many turns on one side so it was not sitting flat on the opposite end, so 2 of the 5 PWM's were not touching the HS...it was ok until i P95 my quad core, which was a "G0"...it took only about 90 seconds to smell that sweet burning aroma!

What about ASUS P5K series and blowing capacitors?

From my experiences with digital PWM I would say that they provide more stable Vcore. When me and my friend benched same E6700 on Ln2 on P5B dlx, P5K and QuadGT, QuadGT allows us to clock CPU highest with lowest Vcore.

That's the case with Asus Maximus also.

Only Giga's DQ6 has the standard two pin design.

one time i bought 5 of the same boards from the UK...getting it done was difficult since the place i found was not dealing with international orders at the time...after talking to the webmaster of the website, he made a special pitch to the boss of the company and it was done...i would venture that purchasing one board would not have completed the deal but five was the charm!

i generally stay away from international orders (always more expensive than USA orders) unless it is from canada.

i was thinking the release date for the USA is going to be a week or two later than in the UK...do you know?

Yeah that would be a very nice photo...

To our subject. In my opinion in November it'll be widely available. I'm going to get a Maximus for my main rig, but will certainly have an eye on it. Abit has regained my faith after using IP35 Pro.
