I'll have some pics in a few days. I'm working on three things at the same time..... the cooling chamber, making line fittings for distributing block and building fan shrouds. I've also received the power supply for the fans and been playing around testing the air flow....these fans have a lot of pulling power. I know sound proofing will be in the plan for sure!
I will keep you guys updated!

Cool. I found Sonex at AcousticSolutions and it works pretty well.

Funny you should mention AcousticSolutions......I purchased some acoustic wedge panels back when I started designing this system. I didn't know if they would be used or not....but now they will be used for sure. When sixteen fans start up ( approximately 2800 cfm ) ....it will probably sound like a jet motor!
I've almost finished the cooling chamber and I'm waiting for some aluminum sheets to complete the fan shrouds. The cooling chamber is coming together as planned and I think it will be complete sometime next week. I will now let you in on the design...its two air tight chambers combined together as a double wall system with one inch insulation between the two chambers.
The inner chamber will house the motherboard, video cards, evaporator, distribution block and receiving tank. All penetrations for routing wires and copper lines will exit the inner chamber. Then, one inch insulation will be applied with adhesive on the outside of the inner chamber to seal all penetrations. The inner chamber will insert into the outer chamber and be sealed together for 100% air tight cooling chamber.
I've attached a few pictures of my progress, but keep in mind that I still have a lot of prep work to do, before any components are installed.

Okay that is SO bada$$. Seriously is. You fab that yourself? Its some amazing workmanship.
Keep it up

Thanks TopherTony! Yes, I did the assembly with a little help from a friend with a large press break. I still need to clean up the inside and prep all the holes. This project is starting to be very time consuming, but I guess if you want something Xtreme and done right....it will take more time to complete.
i believe i am finally becoming aware on joust how big this thing really is!
wish i had the tools to do this, got the knowhow yet no mola, lol
awesome work!

hey sweeper, we would much rather see something done nice and clean rather than rushed just to get quick results. Slow and steady...

Thanks guys for the support! I believe if you want great results with any project...you must be patient and do it right the first time or it could turn out to be a big waste of money and time. I've been planning and designing this system for over a year. I thought it would be best to present my ideas on this forum, once everything had been thought out and parts were purchased or fabricated for assembly.
KnightWolf....yes, this project will be very large and probably hit the scales of approximately 250 lbs. I don't think I will be joining any LAN party with this rig!

Your lucky to have such nice condensers.
If you have a cooling question or concern feel free to contact me.
Now that is Xtreme!!!
Yes, the system will definitely be on the ground floor. Once the system is complete, it will not be moved very much. All the fabrication is done in my shop and its final location will be in my computer room. My wife still can't understand why I need such a "Big Computer " .... I tell her its a man thing and you just wouldn't understand.
The end all excuse right there, congrats!

Thanks guys for following the results of my project and the complements. I have a question....has anyone splice and extend the wires on a power supply? I will need to extend the wires for the cooling chamber and I'm curious if there will be a power drop, due to the distance between the power supply and components.
Has anyone done this before for there project?
I have but I did not measure before and after results...

Signal should not degrade a noticeable amount if you extend a reasonable distance. How much longer are you thinking?

I wanted to extend the wires about 48"....think the wire size needs to be increased?

it wouldnt hurt, dont go up dramatically maybe one gauge size. But I dont think its necessary. 4 feet wont hurt anything I dont think.
