Hello Dusty lol, these are well overated, I think you should make your own, an old voile shirt or some fine gauze will cost you a lot less than the merciless prices they seem to charge! rant over

I got some of those nice aluminium mesh grills and they work a treat. Of course I sprayed them black first. Just watch the scratches unless you can afford a more professional job like powder coating.

I finally gave up with dust filters on the systems i've built. I just take my case out to my garage once a month and blast it out with my Craftsman air compressor. Nothing like 90psi of air to remove every fleck of dust on the whole setup in seconds.

But remember, you'll lower your air flow this way.

Just blow it with a can air every month works better.

hi Machinus, i use a piece of panty hose streched on an common fan grill, so it won't get sucked into the fanblades..
works flawless for me and is easy to clean with a vacuum cleaner

I agree. My compressor is small though, so I just haul it upstairs and blast my case.

I'd be worried about static electricity.

I'd rather keep the dust outside than blowing around my bedroom.

they restrict airflow too much; dont bother. try to keep a clean room (id get one of those HEPA air filters if your place is really dusty ) and clean it maybe once a month?

the aluminum mesh filters work great.instead of having to clean my case out every 3-4 weeks i rarely need to do it more than once every couple of months.
