Friend is ordering mine tonight for me.

NickS, there is also a 1GB GDDR4 version of the XT, and where is the 2900GT?

Yeah I know, I didn't make the chart I got it off of Sapphires site. The 2900GT is coming out later this year, iirc.

I'm VERY interested in hearing some OC results with this card; I'm debating picking one up to xfire with my XT. I'm wondering what the chances are that the only difference in these cards is that the VGPU is set a little lower.....

If that's the case, a little bios flash action would be nice ...

The RAM chips are most likely the same as the clock is just 50mhz DDR lower. It makes no sense for ATI to purchase different RAM chips for the Pro cards as that would probably only make the cards more expensive to make.

What I'm most interested in are the voltages of the HD 2900 Pro (the vcore in particular, I'm pretty sure the MVDDC and MVDDQ are the same as on the XT). The stock vcore may be lower (hint: more overclocking potential than if they were just failed XT cores).

I'm really wondering the R600 cores on the Pros are really failed XT cores. This product is such a limited edition that I question if they made a different bin for these. Maybe they did do this for the HD 2900 GT (which I expect to have a little longer lifespan than the Pro), but there's a good chance the Pros just have undervolted XT cores

    Ordered one myself

Regardless, they should do 750MHz core even if it takes a hair higher voltage. IIRC you can change the voltages in ATi Tool 0.27b2

Yes sure they will do 750mhz+ with a little extra juice. It's just an HD 2900 XT for 2/3 of the cost

Yeah they should definitely do 800MHz or so on water. Probably will do it on stock cooler @ 100%!

Yeah i'm thinking of buying a hd2900 pro 1024 myself. It's only 50 euro's more expensive as the 512mb version, and it has gddr4 instead of gddr3. I think the extra 512mb will come in handy at some point, especialy with verry high reso's.

    Surprise!

I've got this card on Thursday but was away from home!

Finally today I redone my RIG with some small obstacles during installing new Ultra 120 Extreme

Then I fired up my computer and started playing with card!

I will skip stock clocks for now but if you're interested then look here.

Results are AWESOME at least for me

    825/1980 and X2 3250

Note that I haven't changed VGPU or any other voltage and it's set to 1.15V for GPU (1.00V when idle)! Card is unmodified (yet!). Fan is at default speeds yet max temps I experienced was 72C!

I'm very happy thanks to this purchase! Hope you guys will get at least that good or even better cards than mine!

Any questions or bencharks you want just ask!

EDIT: I tested card @850/1980 for 2h and it's rock solid
Quick screene from OpenGL FUR as a proof and CinemabenchR10 OGL score of 5912.

Very impressive clocks dude, you didn't adjust the volts at all in ATi Tool? VERY impressive. I can't wait for this card!

Thanks guys for all your comments!

In return I played a bit with card this morning and first of all max. stable 3D clock at default 1.15V vgpu is 863MHz!

I didn't find max. mem yet because Kinc says it's better to keep it below 2GHz mark due to good timings. That will be tested later thou!

I started playing with more vgpu and find out that every core speed adjustment is resetting vgpu to 1.15V. So max 2D clock @1.15V will be my max 3D for now.

As a first attempt I fought for 11K 3DMark06 and....

After full 3D06 session reads 73C. But when I was pushing 870@1.25 it reads 79C! Not that cards needs 1.25V for 870Mhz it was just a try ...

Lightman, are you just using the newest version of Rivatuner to clock it? Does Rivatuner have the software voltage adjustments as well?

Newest RivaTuner works very well with R600 but unfortunately cannot adjust voltages. I'm also afraid that ATITool voltage adjustment doesn't work well with HD2900Pro at the moment or it is blocked by BIOS of this card. No matter what I did I couldn't make it working stable over 870MHz! I tried 1.20V-1.30V with absolutely no difference to 1.15V .

Still I'm quite happy about my last run today at 860/2070

BTW. my max stable memory clock is 2172MHz tested over 10 minutes using ATITool artifacts scanner.
