    Really needs Help Oc'ing E6600

Hey everyone i've been trying ever since i built this system to overclock it to a fair amount...Now all i can get is 3.6 GHz with core 1 always failing in 2 seconds. When i reduce to 3.4GHz its still unstable and fails on the second core(core1) but it only takes longer.

    Bios are as follows:
    V-Core_1.6v
    Ram-2.125v
    1/2Ht-1.55v
    NB-1.45v
    SB-1.50v
    CPU-VTT- 1.50V..

are those values wrong, can anyone help me to overclock this chip...

What are you temps like when you stress it?

That's a pretty high Vcore if you're only on air cooling.

Yeah, my e6600 makes it to 3.6 on air, but you need to give it 1.55v

chips are going to vary, find your processors sweet spot then tweak the other items to gain more performance. also i agree temp is probably causing the issue.

    Answers: Temps- idle 23,load-45-50.

ASUS Striker Extreme 1102 BIOS( i tried the new version but it crashed my system after update). My system refused to boot after i updated the BIOS, I used a flash drive to do the update and it was done in the BIOS with the EZflash.

CPU Batch i'll get that when i take the system apart to add the GPU's into the loop.
Tet50u what are your bios setting..?
I ran orthos overnight and i got 7hrs Stable @ 3.4GHz with these bios settings
    1700 FSB, 8x Multi, 1.55vcore.with temps @ 45 during test...good or bad..

For mine, I think I was using 1600 FSB and 9x multi. Ram was linked on 3:2 ratio.

CPU vcore 1.55 (1.50 actual bad vdroop!)

Every CPU is different, though, so one person's settings might not work on another CPU/mobo combo.

Plz update to 1301 or 1303 bios NOT 1305 as indeed it didn't work out with my E6600 though seems pretty smooth sailing with the E6850... (damn Nvidia with their chipset and FSB holes)

For 3.6 you can go either via 400 x 9 or via 8 x 450, it's easier to get there via the lower multi as the 680i chipset get's very strained with 400FSB and surely when you want to leave the ram at 1066mhz, easiest to get it working at 1600FSB is to leave the ram at 800mhz and use tighter timings then 2 examples you can try :

Hey guys , i'm again pondering why i can't get a higher overclock with this chip...maybe i do have a bad batch but i'm willing to try one more thing...When i was getting ready to build this system i was constantly following up the AS_S Forums as to how to get the Striker Extreme board to work since it was giving so much problems at that time...Now i was told to make adjustments to my ram at the very begining, Here's the changes that i made to my ram (2GB Corsair Dominator PC2 8500 DDR2 1066), I adjusted the voltage to 2.1v, and i manually set the timings to 5 5 5 15, 2T @ 1066. Is it possible that maybe my ram timings could be the reason why i can't get a better overclock or even a stable one, maybe i need to tighten it up a bit..? If so how do i go about doing that..?

Try running 425mhz - 450 FSB first mate with the ram at 800mhz ( so underclocked) with the above settings (just set the Vcore your CPU needs) and your CPU at multi 8x and these ram timings...

    tCL (CAS Latency): 5
    tRCD: 5
    tRP: 5
    tRAS: 15
Command Per Clock (CMD): 2 clock (2T)

If all passes well try to bump up the ram speed to 1066mhz
