Well something funny happened , on my screen it looks all messed up , like shiny ugly and a lot of distortion . On my laptop it doesn't . ITs the freaking Vista drivers thats for sure because I ran XP on my desktop and it looks perfect . Sheesh !!
Looks fine for me under vista with x1800 GTO, do you have an nvidia card?

You know you want to
there is quite a bit of noise for me... what is the iso setting? besides that it doesn't look all that bad.
Looks fine to me as well?????

powershot g7. as it stands with p&s cameras, these companies are shoving massive amounts of pixels into the sensor, causing a decay in image quality and bringing up the noise values, even in low iso settings. it's a shame, how marketing is taking precedence over what's best.
oh, the image looks fine.
Update: it was those damn Nvidia drivers messing up my picutre. Now it looks okay .
I took both of these with my camera :P
wow, those are very nice and clear... but try something with much darker spots in the picture like the original. that way you can test the noise levels. not sure if i posted this before, but i use noise ninja for cs2 and it's a great program. just takes some playing around with to find the sweet spot.
You won't find a lot of noise in macro shots.
It will show up more with a lot of zoom, at least in my experience.

Upping the ISO creates more noise, every time. Lower ISO the better, but the side effect is slower shutters and more chance for blur.
