In the photos i see a pot being held down by a hold-down plate and bolts.
No different to most other pots around including the two that i've used.

Further to that i see a completely uninsulated hold-down mechanism and also some exposed surfaces of the pot, which in my neck of the woods is suicide for condensation issues.
This is an LN2 run, NO condensation no ice

However when dryicing a fan is requiered though, but blind is right this method of mounting is easier and better, not much but it is.

    Ontopic,
Sick pot vince, equiped with you and a sick cpu makes sick results,

Actually top mount is somewhat better with condensation issues as there are only two gaps for air to get it in below the unit at bottom of vertical insualtion and just under the holdown. The F1 unit pics are just showing off the container, I never bench with it like that.
Don't try that at home kids ...always use your paper towel wraps around the unit holdown and your GOLD. Never have to take the main insulation off of the container with the type of mount the F1 uses, fastest and easiest mount I have used yet. I dont even use any sort of polish or anything in the socket area anymore at all.

You can do something like OPB did if you really want to dig in and make the stack tight:

sounds interesting... did you do some compare tests with the different pots?
would be interesting to see how long it takes to cool down or heat up again etc... just roughly.

very interesting, and the square design is definately something new
    i like it

Your new container looks nice, I like the way you always come up with something new. The holddown on the top of the container make it a heck of a lot easier to insulate. I tried something similar a year a go, and it worked very well.

What about making a F1-pot for gpus with high heat output like the 2900's?

Lol, in the last picture the insulation looks like a condom. "Stay safe while benching, remember the condom"

I benched my F1 units for 100's of hours like this all summer long(very hot and humid this year), sometimes no AC and never had one failure/death due to condensation on a motherboard. That is using NO polish, laquer, or anything around the socket either. Do it like this with a wrap EVERYTIME, and I assure you guys there will never be a problem:

    good work KP
excellent design.......would be lovely and probably help you really get your point across if you can mount a camera and do a quick run showing your UEI temps, LCD screenshot while doing a 3DMARK run with your pours andl how quickly pull downs happen during different runs

as you said it yourself most people buying your pots are really beginners and that would be just gold plus it would also show the benefit of greater surface area benching on uneven loads like 3DMARK rather than your Pi type stuff

since i'm mainly thinking of pi and wprime and that kind of stuff i snapped up one of your Dragon Evo pots off an Aussie here who'll get an F1 instead as well

i love the craftsmanship on the evo i have here....it's really nice but that is a different topic and this thread is all about the new star in town and named after my favourite sport

hey vince, just curious as I am playing with designing my own pot, how thick is the base at the low point of the F1 and the high point? Looks great man! keep it up!

Where do you get the idea of no insulation?

Thats one uber-nice container. Ive thought about square container sometime too as it could be used as gpu-container also. Maybe there is still some room to develop the internal construction. But obiously there is some limitations to mill that deep. It would be intresting to see the milling process.

Next step is electrical discharge machining? Bit expensive though...

I just talked to OPB last night and hes getting some very nice results, FSB wise, which is what hes focusing on right now.
What I can tell, hes very, very to happy with this pot.

    Very nice design KP
It seems that for quad were going to be seeing a lot more of these mass designs, just like MM's Concept one.

Tell him to come over here again and to post again

    MM's concept?
Cone shaped containers can never give the mass as this design.
