You used EFS (exploere->right-click->properties) or BitLocker?
I'll assume EFS. Your only bet is some password cracking software (Hiren's Boot CD might have some, not sure). You definitely won't be able to access it from Windows.
You confused me.I used EFS how do i use the software, and what kind of software?
The thing is this software wont work without decryption keys
As far as I know, it's pretty well unbreakable. At least, I've never heard of it being broken (not that I've done any extensive searching on this). Personally, I think you're pooched.
For the future, you can export a copy of your encryption key to, for example, a flash drive, CD, etc as a backup just in case.
Dual CCIE (Route\Switch and Security) at your disposal. Have a Cisco-related or other network question? My PM box is always open.

you're serious? windows implemented such hard cypher?
i was told from one techie at security conference that any folder/file(not whole disk) thats encrypted ain't that hard to decipher thanx to ntfs nature.
