    2 x 30Gb Vertex or a single 60Gb Vertex

Is it better to do 2 x 30Gb Vertex drives in RAID0 or a single 60Gb Vertex drive? It will be for the OS and games, storage will be a different hard drive. My concern is with TRIM not working on RAID arrays, but do you have to run that very often? Is it really necessary to run TRIM? OS will be W7 x64. I have read the benchmarks for RAID on SSD, but I could see where that would be negated if I have to keep rebuilding the OS drive because I have to run TRIM often.

I know it's a somewhat broad question, but any suggestions would be helpful.
    Thanks.

single 60. Raid doesn't always benefit other than for synthetic, and trim and firmware updates don't work on raid afaik. Trim get's back lost performance, and from my reading, trim is useful.

trim is useful if you are close to filling your drive. i personally keep my array at about half its capacity so it doesnt really matter... regardless i format every 4 or 5 months so im not worried about it.. trim isnt really useful to someone who starts at 430 read a second, im not worried it will drop to 300 or 200 and even if it does, it isnt the worst thing ever

Exaly Nano still running my 3 in raid 0 and havent used wiper / trim and performance is Great ..

OP your choise Raid kicks butt but trim wont work that way , I would just get a 120 Vertex for the speed and be done with it & trim at will ...

Thanks for the responses guys. I found an Intel 80Gb for $260, a little more than the Vertex 60Gb and and a little less than the Vertex 120Gb, so I am thinking I will go that route. Thanks again everyone.
