When I've built computers for others they usually care more about the price, noise levels and case aesthetics than performance, and the freezer 7/64 has been a great low cost heatsink that punches above it weight. It can cool processors with demanding power requirements quietly, whilst not costing a lot.

The design is great for its target market, for an entry level HSF solution it ranks among the best. If OCZ are able to offer the product at the same price point then I don't see anything wrong with that, if you would rather have ocz branding then go for it. Or if they are able to target it at another market segment (ie. change fans to target either quieter systems or faster fans for more demanding processors), but should it just be a copy with the price higher to cover the ocz branding that would be dissapointing.

i do appreciate OCZ being one of the top leaders, if not "the" leader, in performance hardware....i already loved your PSU's but now, you have joined up with PCP&C which is only going to make your line that much stronger...it was a "GREAT" acquisition!
Thanks for a different perspective Ace-a-Rue. I often see things that are of no intererest to me personally on websites all the time, but I have failed so far to just up and bash them. I am not buying so no need for my two cents is how I normally treat such things.

And so far it is and always will be money doing the talking. So different sizes actually do fit different budgets and the larger the companies become the more widely must they compete. Something for all sizes and all pocketbooks is the current trend in the market today.

I have run the Freezer Pro and I have run the Thermalright 120 Ultra Extreme, but my favorite now is definitely chilled water or greater. Just got more heat relief.

My guess is if something is not one's own cup of tea, then just don't buy and leave it at that. The product may well be someone else's real deal. Or maybe only super stuff need apply where nothing counts except the extreme stuff. Who knows? Me don't.

tbh i dont see why people are complaining about rebadged because it clearly is different. People say the ninja lookalike is just a ninja but it isnt its different as reviews showed, it looks different uses a quieter fan.

I can't believe the way some people are sucking up to OCZ here. So the rep comes in and you all feel guilty? Grow a spine.

While this is a blatent example of rebranding, OCZ has a reputation as a high quality manufacturer and its brand has generally carried a price premium. If this is priced the same as the AC then all's well and good, but its not exactly "helping out those joe sixpacks" if you use your brand to get more money out of them. So this all boils down to how much it is compared to the other (identical" offerings.

OCZ used to be a brand which I had a lot of respect for, but recent trends in the quality of their products have put me off really. Especially in the area of CPU coolers.
<eMesreveR>Do "girls" ever appear outside the Internet? Can i randomly encounter them?
<Aleph-One>I believe they are a fabrication. Most of the evidence would suggest that they were created in a studio during the Cold War to display our industrial superiority over the Soviet Union.

obviously your spine is bulging with piss, vinegar and bullsh*t!

get over the rebranding! ...things like this happen among many industries.

you obviously don't get it!...companies see products that are not really selling well under an unfamiliar brand...they, OCZ, think it is a good product so they buy interest in it and package it under their "popular, well known, brand name!"...GOT IT!

Which is exactly Cobalt's point. Imagine your average noob seeing the Vindicator on the shelf next to the ninja. "Why hmm, i've never heard of Scythe, but my buddy says OCZ is good!" shame he knows nothing about performance to get dissapointed about at home.

The point and problem we're making is that companies gain the respect of the enthusiast by being original, and definitive. NOT rebadging your average sludge, and paddling it off to the people stupid enough to be suckered in with a name alone.

haven't you heard of "trust" in a good company or is that terminology illusive to the way you live your life!

Sure, i'm just going to blindly purchase products based on a name, live my life based on the words of some random person, oh, and vote based on what my family's "Party" Has been. "Trusting" any particular vendor, and throwing your caution to the wind with a casual "oh they make it, it must be good" is just a nice way to end up with pricy, and occasionally flashy paperweights.

Its been a long time... but here is a question for you Andy since there's no people that have expirience with this cooler.

I plan to buy Vanquisher... why... well I do not need that much of performance now... primarily I would use it for testing my polishing skills and it would be used latter in another rig, to lower the noise only and for better control of temps in that other rig... so... I was just wondering if there's a possibility to place a 12cm fan on it somehow?

it would be placed horisontaly, amd platform

If you want a 120mm fan, I would get the Vendetta 2: Look here!

It's a similar layout and should work for you.

You might squeeze a 120mm on the Vanquisher, but attaching it would be a challenge.

Seen it, but I don't want to give that much money because this would be used for some testing and later on other rig just for noise lowering.

But maybe when I'm finished and when intel platform comes in my hands

Thanks Aldo I do not see mysefl polishing Vendetta, 'cause pipes are exposed and there'a a cm212 just a little bit expensive and yet with better performance But I must say that Vanquisher poses very good price/performance ratio
