I guess Idaho needs the geostationary potato over Idaho.
"To exist in this vast universe for a speck of time is the great gift of life. Our tiny sliver of time is our gift of life. It is our only life. The universe will go on, indifferent to our brief existence, but while we are here we touch not just part of that vastness, but also the lives around us. Life is the gift each of us has been given. Each life is our own and no one else's. It is precious beyond all counting. It is the greatest value we have. Cherish it for what it truly is."
What a good idea - I hope it will have illumination as well.
I looked at their pictures and one is of some dude peeing and looking at the banana. Appropriate I guess.

Would be even funnier if it really was an "actual" project that goes anywhere with "actual" construction.

A banana there would also be covered in ice crystals when the moisture is drawn out. And it would be another colour.
Crunching for Comrades and the Common good of the People.
The expected launching date is August 2008 from around Baja or Sonora, north-west of Mexico.
they ask you to donate money so they canrealize that project of that flying banana....
if they can make people donate money for a flying banana maybe soemone should start asking for money for a dual xeon rig for WCG or so... i think that would be a better investment...

Its a real project. To all those calling the photos "fake"...they're design images obviously. I for one think it's a great idea. Because America, particularly Texas takes itself waay too seriously, a geostationary banana over the whole state for several months would be perfect. Look at the videos for their Phase III, which shows them putting together an actual section of the model. Yes, and it is being made by a Canadian group...they aren't exactly trying to hide it. Don't you people look at the links before posting stupid comments?
I have a computer.
how much will it be to rent the geostationary banana for a day? my sons birthday is coming up and that would be way better than a balloon! and can i have two?
