The spies working for Lexus stole the blueprints for the 2008 M3 and that set BMW back two or three years of development for the car. Just like how Area 51 definatley exists.

I don't dig it. Especially with the outdated interior.

I saw one the other day around town? Seen a few pre-release BMWs actually over the past few years (not sure why CT of all places). Anyway, was wondering to myself "I didn't think that was out yet" Well, now I know.

It's very, very nice in person

Is it alright not to like it? I'm sorry that I honestly don't, even disregarding all prejudices.

    Sure thing.

Lexus has been posing MB and BMW for years. Their entire model line takes a bunch of styling cues from each, both exterior and interior. It's Lexus that has the BMW look, not vice versa.

It really bothers me that cars of different manufacturers are starting to look alike. There is the "Europeanization" of Japanese brands, and honestly, some of these German cars are looking way too Japanese. Even worse, the dashborad of the new Mercedes resembles that of a BMW, and soon, we will see Hondas with the same exact screen and look. There is no more individual identity. The fender flares on this M3 may look futuristic, but they are a knock-off of a Porsche 935 or RSR from the late 70s.

Lexus has perpetually pi$$ed me off. First, they advertised that Mercedes and BMW are ostentatious and way oversized.. symbols of excesses. Then Mercedes and BMW pi$$ed me off even more. They downsized their body sizes and downsized their engines. For a while, they even got rid of their V12 models to be more environmentally conscious. What nonsense! And what does Lexus do? Lexus dramatically increases their body sizes. Their sedans began to be longer than the non extended versions of the 7-series and S-class. Now, I love it that the S-class and 7-series basically stick out their middle finger at the Japanese. 600 horsepower and V12 twin turbo. Choke on that, Toyota.

America needs some sort of super sedan.. A Cadillac or Lincoln with a Supercharged V12 that puts out 650 hp or more, and a super extended model that is longer than the Maybach with infinitely more technology. Lots of Americans with the wealth and the glitz for such bling.

And what the hell is that trunk lid spoiler on that M3? It looks attrocious. Either you get gutsy enough to put a real prominent spoiler, or remove that little wimpy thing. Is that roof really carbon fibre or is that some fako Need For Speed kiddie black look alike ? Jellybean... yeah.. I looked at it and the first thing that came to my mind was " Time for Teletubbies ! Time for Teletubbies !!"

There will probably be a GT2 class M3 as well
"To exist in this vast universe for a speck of time is the great gift of life. Our tiny sliver of time is our gift of life. It is our only life. The universe will go on, indifferent to our brief existence, but while we are here we touch not just part of that vastness, but also the lives around us. Life is the gift each of us has been given. Each life is our own and no one else's. It is precious beyond all counting. It is the greatest value we have. Cherish it for what it truly is."
