Damn FSB wall with Abit IP35 + E6850

Running a Abit IP35 Pro with a E6850. When i go with air i can¨t go over ~485fsb, doesn´t matter what voltage i set. And when i tried my SS i could go up to 536fsb but after that is stopped. Tried different voltage there to.

So the BIG question is, should i look for a new cpu or motherboard ?

Why would you want to look for a new cpu / motherboard. personally makes no sense. sice your can run 9xcmos . Apparently it appears your saying 485fsb x ? 8 would still give u 3.8g which isnt bad.

But you should be running at 9x multi to achieve a much better / higher overclock.

So why are you wanting to look for new hardware when what you got is more then enough.

trubodream, trust me its not worth the hassle, unless u have some extreme cooling and shooting for 5ghz or somethine, i was able to get my board 543 fsb orthos stable, with small fft's. but u know what the benchmarks were slower at the same speed with higher multiplier and lower fsb, why because the northbridge loosens the timings and it takes a performance hit as u increase the fsb. i would never go for higher fsb because the raw speed matters to me the most. use higher multiplier and u will be a lot happier and it will be faster. hey than again its ur computer and do what satisfies u the most lol, this is just what i think,

If you are looking for high clocks for benching, i would try a new CPU.

What volts did you increase in the bios? i'm not sure if the mobo has all the right volt adjustments

    Have you tried 1:1?
