Well, seeing as I should be one of the first to have a retail version of this board I thought I should create this thread. My board was shipped from motherboardpro on 8/9/07 and should be arriving shortly next week. I'll post pics and overclocks with my Q6600 G0 once I set it up.

If any of the DFI reps want to pm me any information I'll gladly update this thread with it. Thanks.

I got mine on Friday, it drop ships from DFI who is close to my home so it was fast

and I'm trying to understand the Transpiper, it comes with thermal paste but I do not see where it would be used

It mounts right to the top of the heat sink that is already installed.

Also I do not use a case, would I still need this?

UPDATE Got the Transpiper on, don't see how it will make a lot of difference but we shall see

Also waiting for mine to arrive, debated between this one and the ASUS Blitz Formula, hopefully made the right choice as they both look to be very promising

i bought the last one from motherboard pro today. i hope it works out great. if clubit will ever stop saying invalid account number when i check out.

Anyone who runs @ 600Mhz FSB doesn't use the stock cooling!

What really gets me with this heatpipe crap is that for those of us who want to change the NB cooling (anyone who overclocks) have to replace the cooling for the ENTIRE motherboard. This is a ridiculous thing to do after spending $300 on the motherboard. Perhaps they should have a version that comes with NO heatsinks for $200.

Why would you have to replace the entire cooling system? Have you used the motherboard yet to come to that conclusion?

I don't think DFI would have used this design if it wasn't effective.

I don't know if you noticed or not, but there are large aluminum pipes connecting the SB / NB / Mosfet / PWM coolers. How would you go about removing the NB cooler while keeping the SB / Mosfet / PWM cooler intact?
Again, anyone who is serious about overclocking doesn't use the stock NB cooling.

Actually P35 NB doesn't seem to get that hot from my Asus P35 board testing with just stock heatpipe and 120x25mm fan over it.

My DFI LANParty UT P35-T2R arrived - thanks DFI! I decided to use Scythe Infinity heatsink with modded mounting mechanism and a single Spire 120x25mm 96cfm 0.25A fan to start with. CPU in photo is Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 G0 ES.

I got this board too, anybody has link to 08/06 BIOS? How is the thermal compound used under the heatpipes, does it need to be replaced?

I've tried BIOS 0808 & 0815, after flashing I've got trouble booting up for 1st time.
Always stuck at C1 error.
I should boot with 1 stick of RAM to success.
Anyone has the same problem ?

Also I think 0808 is better than 0815.
Trying BIOS 0810 now.

- hooks or holes?
- 2 or 4?

Hmm, eva, from preliminary testing do you think the transpiper is really necessary?

haven't tested transpiper at all.. from what i read it doesn't do much for SB mounted method but helps somewhat with the cpu mount method with copper plate. Will get around to that later... my first priority is figuring out all the subtimings and tweaking for performance

As to NB mount it's using 2 hole method.. see the backside of the board and the 2 nuts http://i4memory.com/reviewimages/mot...35_T2R_53.html

Yeah, that's the same feeling I got after I read the manual. I might not even need it...although I think I'll put it in just in case.

Forgot to mention this just came in today

Now I get to put together all the parts in my sig!

Won't be able to set it all up until tomorrow. Hopefully I'll get a chance to overclock tomorrow too, if not, it will be on Saturday.
