A thing thats been bugging me for a while is the use of the transpiper with the copper plate on the cpu.

Would you apply TIM under and and on top of the copper plate and like "sandwich" is between the cpu and the cooler?

Same here. I am finally assembling everything and am not sure what I want to do with this. I think I am leaning towards not using the copper plate, my lapped Ultra 120 Extreme should be sufficient cooling I would hope. Especially with a couple fans.

    Any input on this though?

I'm now leaning on with not using the copper plate. The extra layer of copper between the cooler and the cpu would make the temperature worse versus not doing it. Well thats what I think.

i don't own the board, but that is what you'd have to do if you wanted to use the copper plate. or else there wouldn't be much point in using TIM at all.

(if you had 10 different layers of metal between the cpu and heatsink, you'd want TIM between each layer - not that you'd ever do this)
