    g0 6600 and gigabyte p35-ds3r arrived! 2nd attempt

2nd attempt, found a bad piece of memory

In the bios, I cant even go a little higher to see what I can do, my temps are fine, considering this pic is 4x100% large ffts.... but the next vcore is 1.8

I tried going higher in the fsb, but it wont last 2 minutes in windows, heh.

Oh well, 3.7 is alot better then 3.4

I have it. Running the F5e beta bios. no pencil vdroops that work... otherwise a nice board. Stable and OCs as well as my p5b-deluxe up to 1.52 loaded since there is no vdroop mod I cannot push further

I miss the p5b-d for the pencil vdroop mod, it took my chip further cause you have more vcore options available than with the P35 DS3R.

How did you get the beta BIOS? The website lists only up to F4.

    Mr. Kakarot,
I'll be watching this thread closely as I've got the DSR3mb and the GO Q6600 is coming in next week. Please keep us updated on your progress. I'm a newbie at OC'ing and I'm gonna give it a whirl this time around. I was always an AMD fan but decided to switch to Intel because of their price reductions.

I've got a DS3P on the way so I'm also curious, what ram and bios settings are you using?

    BTW, nice OC at 1.2625v

so I dont know whats going on, lol. I am having trouble getting over 3.4

I dunno if its the chip, the board or me not knowing the bios

?? 4ghz not stable could very well be the chip. I'd expect only the 'cherry' one's to clock that high.

What makes you think your chip can do 4Ghz? I've had about 10 Conroes and none would do 4 Ghz on water...

Im not real crazy on the DS3R the droop and limited vcore makes it less effective than my P5B-D for overclocking. 1.6v max only gives me ~1.50v after droop.

wow awesome clocks, are you sure its bad ram? I cant overclock the memory bus on my gigabyte for the life of me, i just dont get it, my sticks are well capable of doing 900-1000mhz and dont, i cant even tighten timings without having the pc not boot.

If you're using those 2x2GB rams kits, they don't OC very well. I mean, I've got an OCZ Gold 2x2 kit, and it only goes to about 950 so long as I slacken the timings from 5-5-5-18 to 6-6-6-18.
