Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 +E6600 can't cold boot any overclock?

Well, I'm trying to get my dad's rig overclocked, but one problem. It can't cold boot any overclock. I've gotten it up to 3.15ghz (easily bootable after saving to CMOS and restarting). But, if I turn it off and boot back up, it resets the FSB. Even when trying to get it up from 2.4 to 2.5 I have this problem.

    Any ideas?

EDIT: I have the rev 2.0 board, and the F11 BIOS.

Yep, there are numerous BIOS updates and several revisions of that board.

I have the DS3 rev. 1.0 and I use the F7 BIOS and have never had the cold boot problem. Different people swear by different BIOS for each revision although it's usually best to try the latest when updating. (F7 was the latest version when I updated, heh)

Switch to the F12 bios! Their is a problem with the f12 bios too though. If you go higher than 400FSB, you have to set it to a 8x multiplier and let it boot, then go into bios and switch the multiplier to 9x.

I went from F7 which was perfect to F12 to get the g0 stepping working.

    I also have a rev 2.0 ds3

Flash back to the F10 BIOS and that should fix your problem.
