I'm using 0404 for my P5K-Dlx and from what I know that 0501 beta and 0404 official doesn't have much variation in terms of overclock-ability and temp wise, it'll only be a matter of 1~2 degrees of difference.

So I don't think it's your BIOS becouse actually our batch is quite a good overclocker that goes up to 3.2ghz at only 1.32v loaded but temp must not be reading correctly. You should probably check your watercooled setup.

    OR

Maybe I should get some balls and rip open my Q6600 G0 box in knowing that we've the exact same batch L723A765 and just to prove that something else is wrong for the high temp and not the CPU itself

If storm block isn't a good performing watercooled setup then that means all of us on air should give up on quads...

G0 just cannot possibly be this bad, and I doubt even a low end watercooled kit can be this bad.

I'm going to wait a few weeks for the shops to get rid of B3 and the prices to settle a little before I buy one but damnnnn I was thinking about E6850 instead but now I just want one of these soooo bad. 3Ghz Stock volts and I'd be a happy guy.

Dazog, try to remove the waterblock..
to check the thermal greасе imprint, clean it up and install the block again.
Is the pressure to the CPU enough?

It seems like contact problem to me..
