What is the safe 'high' level V? I had 1.45 and got to 3.7Ghz 15min P95 stable over the weekend but wasn't sure how much further I could push it. Only have a TuniqTower atm but ambient was ~18 and I was getting mid-50's on coretemps.

If it's 'safe' to put 1.5V through might give that a go and aim for 4Ghz! I also found with mine, that 425*8 @ 1.31V was more stable than 377*9 @ 1.35V and lasted longer in P95.

How can I OC the CPU on my Asus motherboard even further? I have it OC'd to 3.01 right now....but want to go higher on air cooling. My system specs are below:

    ASUS MAXIMUS FORMULA X38
    Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Kentsfield 2.4GHz 2 x 4MB L2 Cache LGA 775 G0 MODEL
    Crucial Ballistix 4GB (4 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500)
    EVGA 017-P3-1298-AR GeForce GTX 295 FTW Edition 1792MB 896 (448 x 2)-bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16
    Rosewill RCX-Z775-EX 92mm 2 Ball CPU Cooler

I was able to OC to around 3.5, but Windows Vista would not boot and gave me the blue screen....can you guys please send me your BIOS settings? The BIOS even let me OC let DRAM to 1297MHz, but Vista just wouldn't boot.
    Thank you !!!

do you know how bad the vdroop is iirc.. mines pretty much 0.1V so I set 1.42v (then under load) it goes to 1.32 (so stock in our case i have same vid as you) then 3.2 is easy...

aslo whats your ram I have some 1066mhz rated sticks but they dont like it

Disable Static Read control and enable Load line Calibration and test again... I would lower ram volts to 2.1 too

    Here the results.

    I change:

    -Statistic Read Control: Disabled.
    -Loadline Calibration: Disabled
    -Vdram: 2.1V

    and also:

    execute disable bit: enabled.
    cpu tm function: enabled.

Now all it´s stable. But, I want to get 3.6 ghz or 3.8 ghz, what more can i do?

    Thanks a lot

    P.D. I´m using Windows 7 x64 bits

Slowly up the FSB by 10 so try 370 next, keep the rams around 1000-1066mhz, normally you should be able to get there but it all depends on what Vcore ya CPU needs...

If I was you I would limit myself to 1.55Vcore... if it can't do 3.6Ghz then settle with 3.4-3.5 or such...

Dunno mate, I think P35 can handle 450FSB dead easy with a quad and the limiting factor here is ya CPU and it's cooling... try to get it too 3.4-3.5Ghz and you will have enough CPU power for games and co...

    Hi mate

    Thanks a lot a lot a lot!!!!!!!

I get, at now, 380 fsb. But the temps go to 70º C.

I think i´m gonna try with lapping my thermalright and my q6600. But i don´t know any tutorial with photos or a video, and i don´t also know which number of paper sander take.

Anyone can help me about that? a tutorial and the materials i´ll need?

    Thanks in advance.
