    Question about recieving internet

I'm planning on changing the location of the router in my house.

For my connection, it goes modem -> router -> me.

In the basement, we have a tv, with a cable connecting to it just like the one I have plugged into my router.

We get tv and internet from the cable company btw.

So I was wondering, are the two cables the same? Is it possible to get internet from the cable plugged into my tv, or is a special connection needed?

The price of reliability is the pursuit of the utmost simplicity. It is a price which the very rich find most hard to pay.
