Computer is making a ringing noise...

About a week ago my PC started making this continuous ringing sound, and it's getting so freaking annoying, I can't take it anymore. I thought I'd come here to see if any of you guys had any idea what might be causing it? Which component might make a ringing sound if it's about to stop working, and needs to be replaced?

What kind of monitor do you have? I know that it's possible for CRT's to make a high pitched noise. Hope that helps some..... Good luck!

Its a 19" acer lcd. Im 100% sure thats not what it is because I play my 360 on that monitor and I dont hear the ringing. Im thinking maybe its one of my fans. But id like to be certain before I replace any parts.. Any other suggestions?

I think it's one of the fans too. Unplug them all one by one and see if the ringing noise goes away.

ringing or whining/squealing. can be the power section of the mobo or gfx card.

My power supply is making a ringing noise, good thing Im RMA'ing it. The only thing that stops it is flipping the switch on the back of the supply... noise is still there when the computer is off.

Yea, I just discovered it must be my power supply. All of my fans are fine. Wish I could RMA mine but I got it at compusa. Guess I'll just wait till I buy my 8800.
