    Best MOBO for Overclocking Gaming

Looking at the EVGA 680i but willing to hear what other boards may be better than this. I know everyone may have their preference but looking for the best available thanks.

have you tried to search, and there is not "BEST" as each has their perks and flaws, you have to do your home work on hardware configurations to figure out what would be "best" for you.

We each have our preferences, and can only recommend based on experience, and much experience has more then likely already been shared in the threads and stickies.........by those that post their results here on XS.

BTW, I see you have only three post, so welcome to XS leave your sanity @ door and here is your straight jacket.

Ram, VGA, CPU, Cooling method...........are all key factors...........just asking for a specific board may not as easily as you might think grant you your answer.

The Gigabyte DS3 is a popular board. It isn't packed full of features but it overclocks like a monster. I picked it for its simplicity and overclocking ability because I am a gamer myself. I don't need all the extra bells and whistles, all I need is performance. It also won't break your bank which is another good reason to pick one up. On top of everything else there are lots of people who own them and you can find support for them on almost any forum. There are already guides out for the board and how to setup BIOS and overclock the most effectively with it.

The DS3 gets my vote for its simplicity, low cost, high performance and large customer base. Not to mention Gigabyte is a top notch company with high quality products.

For my part I know nothing with any certainty, but the sight of the stars makes me dream.

People are turning to the P35 boards as they are reported to be much easier ont he OCing. I can't comment on the stats of the boards as I have not read up on them myself.

If you plan to use SLI, go for the EVGA 680i, Shagg.

For Overclock Gaming I think P5K Dlx it's the best option now if you don't intend to use dual-GPU configurations but look out if you use 4-core as it's mosfet's become very hot while using 4-core if you do intend to use SLI go to either the Striker ou Nvidia reference design motherboards(XFX,EVGA;BFG) for CF you will have to wait for X38 to use CF@16X in both slots

Yeah going to run dual 8800gtx's in SLI mode guess I should have mentioned that as well. I hear alot of good things about the Gigabyte as well. Isn't the x38 chipset supposed to be coming out as well?

Yeah guess the EVGA 680i for SLI seems like the ticket till they come out with the X38 chipset.

Yah if you need to get a mobo now and you need SLI then the EVGA should be on your short list. Lots of people with that board as well so lots of good help and experience around.
