Congrats Victor. Not too long to break 100 million for you.

You'll have to let us know how that new quad runs. Particularly if it runs cooler than B3s. I'm looking for the price drop to add on a couple more. The hamster houses are all ready for them.....

    Regards,
    Bob

123bob the new stepping does run cooler, allowing higher OC with the same cooling equipment and at a lower Vcore.

    Go for it.

Victor, have you taken the time to consider any vdroop mods for this board? Or does your droop at all?
    Thanks

To counter Vdroop just set a higher Vcore value in bios. I really don't understand why people bother, when Vdroop is actually specified by Intel as a design requirement.

Ok. The problem is with some DS3 varieties, and now recently duscussed with the new DS3 P35, is that beyond 1.6 vcore in bios, a DS3 can fail to work/reboot. I myself can't set vcore greater than 1.59 in a DS3 P965. Vdroop is vicious and I end up with a actual of 1.50. So my hope with this board is to kill the vdroop.

vcore mod it rather than v-droop mod it, then you have no need to set higher than 1.5v in bios.

The Vdroop, which is the difference between idle and loaded Vcore, is around 0.02V on this board. If you want to correct the undervoltage, which is the difference between your bios Vcore setting and the idle Vcore, you should do the Vcore mod. Full set of mods and measurement points are in Shamino's article over at VR.

I have the P35 DS4 board. Vdroop is a bit more than 0.02v on my board. Haven't measured it with a MM though .

I know it is a design spec , but too much vdroop is just fugly , imo.
    Like my Asus P5NE : 0.1 vdroop

DDT: Yep! There is a thread in the Motherboard VMODS section here with screenies for DS3 3.3 and P35 boards, some screens imported from VR I think.
I had neglected to mention that my actual vcore of 1.5 was under load, and not a real undervoltage diff at idle.

I'm seeing about the same vdroop on my DS3R so doing the vdroop mod just doesnt make sense for me.. Here is shamino's vdroop pencil mod.
