HD2900XT Crossfire in Vista broken, now needs it's own driver.... link in release notes gives you a hotfix....for XP!!! Nice subtle hint there, AMD!!

    From the review:

While we saw increases in our non-AA tests, we don’t see any improvements here.

These drivers are mostly for HD 2600 and HD 2400 that are going to launch in 1 weak.
That´s because they release them today. To make sure that in 1 July everyone makes the reviews with the newest drivers.

Otherwise this realeased in normal conditions only came in 31 June or something.

I see AA+AF still kills performance. So its faster, if you play it with ugly settings. Or same speed if you want abit of eyecandy how useful....

So another useless driver and "wait for the next". Seems G9x gonna before they get there.

AF don´t kill performance. Only AA.

And I don´t think that 1920 ou 1600 of resolution is not ugly. It´s very good....

Those drivers are mostly focused on RV630 and RV610 as I said. Those grafics are where 80% of the money comes. And they want the best launch that they can have.

I can no longer enable Crossfire in Windows XP Pro (32-bit) with a pair of X1900XTX/XT cards. Anyone else experiencing this?

AF may kill performance too like AA. Just wanna say that performance with AA+AF put the card at GTS level. So if this is bad this bad also for the GTS.

    LoL. Yeah.

Vista users: No fix. was told "good luck on that" on the phone with ATI/AMD this afternoon.

    Multiple tickets on the issue.

"Enabling CrossFire™ in the Radeon™ HD2900 XT will result in an error message and Crossfire will not actually be enabled. Further information and a hotfix for this issue can be found in topic number 737-28188."
May try the hotfix is due to 2900XT but it may fix your problem too.

Hotfix is listed under Vista issues. There was a link to the XP hotfix driver for 7.5(as i mentioned above), but link is gone now, after I talked to them. Actually, they are working on it, as we speak, as it changed while i was on the phone, even lol.

here's link to the xp hotfix:

Don't install either. Either hit me or AbelJemka up for the 7.6 Hotfix, or wait for ATI to fix the problem.
