Expected. Sony Computer Entertainment have earlier stated that the [American] price will stand for two years, at least. PS# is too expensive to make to cut prices.
Sony (the mothership) on the other hand is indeed interested in cutting PS3 prices to get things moving. PS3 is losing some serious ground to Wii.
(Keep SCE and Sony apart, they are not the same :P )
