Why did you add iodine to your cooling solution? Color or biological down sizing? This has been done before and I don't think it causes any problems. Might dye your clear tubing slightly.Originally Posted by mukmaster
7's overkill. 1 or 2 is all that's needed. You'll need a buffer added to your solution now.
Personally, I'd drain it and redo the solution with only 1-2 drops this time. However, you can always try to balance it with Pentosin which has a PH of 7.5.

Put a small coil of silver wire in your reservoir and forget about it. Or get a silver water block.
so can 1-2 drops of iodine be used as a biocide? I'm a little confused on the whole biocide thing. I'm goign to be using pentosin in my new loop. So i was going to go with 97% distilled and the rest pentosin with 2 drops of iodine. Should I be using something else?
