Less if you catch sales (I remember seeing CPU blocks that were 3-4* off cascades back when cascades were the top notch blocks selling for $10 on sale). Phase change is another story though. If they build a decent phase change unit for under $300 retail, I'll be damned impressed. Good luck to them.
$150? That buys a block, radiator and maybe a pump - depends if you go for a high flow eheim pump or settle for a 12v one.

There's still the problem of getting tubing, fans, rez, a relay card, etc.. the random things that tend to run up the price. More so if you factor in shipping. Shipping wouldn't be so bad if you managed to get all these things for the same place at the same time - but seriously, when did this ever happen? I ended up paying about $85 in total shipping for the various parts of my WC setup, which isn't even that bad; just four different shops.

Even though the core parts are indeed only about $150 for the three of them, your bill still ends up climbing to twice that..

The one way to reduce the cost is to build/find some things yourself. You could probably get an old heater core instead of buying a shiny radiator, and build your own relay card for that old aquarium pump you've been hoarding for ages. It's not very hard with a basic knowledge of electronics. This would dramatically cut down the price (and also the looks) of your setup without sacrificing much in terms of performance.

But such arguments could be made for phase change. If you care to do some research; you'd be able to build your own phase changer out of parts of an old air conditioner and a new compressor + some random parts that shouldn't cost much more than $50.

So assuming we get both the phase changer and the water cooling setup completely from retail - the price for former will be around $600 and the latter $300.. And soon, both would be approximately $300.
    Sigs are obnoxious.

Regards capacity, I have no idea on these retail units, they are SS and will have limits but they will be cheap.

OCZ pulled away from posting and hyping this unit as we were having issues, I hope you all can understand we would have publicly and officially stated it was cancelled if it actually was.

When the units are due to ship I will resume answering questions.

This is great news, finally a SS phase unit for the cost of watercooling. Great job OCZ.

As said, unless you get some good deals.
I got an Asetek kit (with the eXtreme pump, BIP2, 2×ADDA fans, etc) for $120
(incl 20% VAT)... Not hi-end stuff, but still better wc-ing than the rest in the
price range. So yeah, you just have to find the good deals

He's talking about 100* 110V units shipping to OCZ's HQ, for testing & getting sent out for reviews.
The next shipment will be 110V + 220V if the units details get finalized

Tony correct me if I'm wrong m8

This thread reminds me, once again, that AC power needs to be standardized throughout the world. Traveling abroad and needing 57 different adapters just to use your electronics is ridiculous.

Glad to hear this project hasn't gone defunct, Tony.

I don't understand why there would be any problem shipping phase change units by air anyway ? Apart from it being bloody expensive lol .

I'll ask the question that no one else has...

Would these babies handle the heat load from an 8800GTX? If yes, I'll likely buy one myself, if not then I might still buy one at $299.

The first 100 units out the first order are due in soon, all the first order is 110V.

The order is larger than 100 units so this is just the first installment.

220V units are a ways off just yet, all the first order is 110V.

Hope this clears up the questions regarding voltages.

You know guys I really did not want to post anything about this unit untill they were shipping, we have been accused of vapourware etc and threads like this just add to the hype and if we see issues and delay we get severely bashed.

I had all the original threads removed from the cooling section here at XS because of this hoping that we could quietly try to fix all the issues and get the product launched.

I think it best we wait to release specs when it starts to ship, you can then make your minds up whether it is strong enough for you and buy the unit if it meets your needs.

I fully expect these units to be tweaked by end users looking to squeeze more performance from them, infact i seem to remember Chilly wanted to offer an upgrade from the get go.

    Tony:
If you don't mind I'd like to toss my 3 cents in to the guys.

Was reading through this thread and the other one last night and some of the comments amazed me.
The guys from OCZ work real hard here to help everyone and then I see these cheap shots taken at the company.
Did anyone ever stop to think that not everything in life goes as planned even at big companies? Sometimes more so at big companies as ideas, changes have to pass through many hands before things get approved.
Instead of blasting OCZ over the delay, I'd applaud them for sticking with this project. The delays must have cost them huge money but they didn't say screw it. They worked out the issues and continued.
Now some here will say "Yea, it's a mod sticking up for a company" but I assure you that isn't it. I don't know Tony at all to speak of.
I think I said hello once in a thread so this isn't me "standing up for a buddy."
It's understanding how big business works and a little bit of seeing people that work hard to help US take crap when they shouldn't be.
Just like the new releases coming from Intel and AMD, it will happen, but it will happen in it's own time.
Patience my friends and try and be supportive of these guys.
    They really deserve it.
    Thanks for reading.
