Well I've been searching for what other people usually get for temps with my CPU and I can't figure out why my temps are way hotter then what other people report. I'm getting around ~70c load and ~55c Idle 1.29 Vcore @ 3.4 and at stock (2.66) im getting ~60c load and ~50c Idle stock Vcore. Im using a Therlmalright 120 ultra extreme cpu cooler with a scythe s-flex 120mm fan at 1500rpm and I have 6 other 120mm fans in my system too. Are these safe temps to be running at normally?

Those temps are safe for every day use.

If you want to get them down, you should check that your heat sink is making proper contact with your cpu. Check for air bubbles and make sure you are not using to much thermal compound. You could also lap you cpu and HS.

anyone have a clue as to why my 2gbs of crucial 8400 ddr2 is running at command rate of 2T?

or at least that is what is shown by cpu-z... but in bios it shows 1T. i set it from "auto" to "1T" manually...

With my rig as it currently is what sort of OC result would I likely get with a Q9400?

    IIRC, the IP35 PRO doesn't support Q9400.

    ^ wrong info, it supports Q9650 E0 then why not Q9400 ? Good mobo, stable @ 470-480FSB~ 24/7 for Q9000 series.

The IP-35P won't run at 1T AFAIK, but will do 1.5 - 2T. Go back through this thread, I'm sure it's in there.

I'd imagine it's compatible with a PCI-e 2.0 card, but just reverts to the previous version.

Those CPUs with -TEST - next to them...
What that means is that sometimes the CPU will work but usually not.
    Just FYI.

And if you read around the web world, you will see that NOT ALL IP35 PRO motherboards are successfully running the Q9650.

I wondered if my Q6600 had a FSB wall around 452 MHz. I had cut the heatpipe away between NB and PWM heatsinks, so NB sink was burning hot. I had an urge to install a waterblock there, and that is what I did. It was a bit tricky operation, because the naked die.
I managed to get everything working though.

Check rest of the pics: Checking contact between IHS and Swiftech Apogee and adding NB block - Flickr

My MCH voltage is now 1.65V and I could boot FSB @ 450 MHz.
    CPU VTT is 1.425V

On average, where is Q6600s FSB wall around?

Depends on the Stepping for one thing. And remember that no two chips are the same. My Q6600 G0 was good for 425 which is also very good for a Q6600 on air considering most Q6600s will top out at 3400mhz (stable and cool) any way you look at it.

    I currently have the following
    E6750
    Abit Ip35-Pro
    Corsair HX620
    Crucial Ballistix 4x1gb BL12864aa804 and 2x1gb BL12864AA106A
    7900GS

Every once and a while I would have an issue getting the board to fully post. It usually stopped at C1 and then nothing would happen. If I restarted the pc it would then post fine and run fine continuously. It would boot fine the next few times and then repeat the above issue. I was able to flash the bios to 17 from 14 previously and it posted fine.

Now that I have shut it down I can't get it to post at all. I have tried every memory stick and I have cleared cmos and everything else I can think of. I can't get past the C1 and the board won't even try to boot. The only other difference now is it starts to boot shuts off and then reboots stopping at C1.

Does anyone have any ideas before I scrap the board? At the time I didn't realize some people were having issues with the Corsair HX620 but found it later on the Abit forums which are now gone.

I frequented the abit forums and remember the info relating to problems with some psu's,I used the same board with a reported problematic psu,a seasonic with no issues presented, mine shipped with bios 14 and the two years I used it never needed changing, very stable with 5 different video cards used including a 4870x2
maybe a bios change or a psu swap could be the fix

I actually flashed the bios thinking it might help the issue since I was also running 14 previously. Unfortunately it didn't help. I unplugged the computer and removed the battery for 30 minutes and then I was able to boot once again. Of course as soon as I shut down I can't boot past c1 again. I was using the rig as a Windows 7 RC test machine and was planning on turning it into a quad qam tuner DVR so luckily it isn't my primary rig.

I think I am going to give up on the board and just order the UD3P or UD3R as a replacement. If it turns out to be bad memory, which I doubt, then I will go from there. Worst case I will build a new i7 rig just sooner than I planned.

Thanks I did try that before with all 6 sticks but no luck. I took the advice from a poster on the Hexus boards and replaced the mobo battery. It posted fine with the BL12864AA106a then and has been running fine since. I am hoping all along it was a battery that was going bad but I haven't had time to run tests on the other memory on my rig that I know works.

I also wanted to double check. I am looking at installing two PCIEx1 dual tuner Qam cards and I wanted to make sure this board wouldn't have a problem with using the PCIEXP2 slot for the second PCIEx1 card. I have read some boards don't work well doing this but my tuner cards are back ordered so I can't test. Also I would rather find out know instead of waiting and having to order a new mobo.

I hate to ask this but I must, a few years back I had a Asus P5WD2 based system. It was rock solid stable with about a 40% overclock. I literally could go months without rebooting. My Abit IP35-Pro hasn't faired as well over the last year. A few times a week I have to reboot because it locks up. Now I'm not blaiming the mother board because the software isn't completely the same, but it is close. The major difference is the Asus had a warez xP while the Abit is an official xP and the Abit has the paid for version of AVG running.

Anyway are people in general finding the Abit to be a very stable board or are others having to reboot every once in a while? I am asking because I am considering upgrading the abit to a Q9550 +4mB Ram Gskill and maybe a fresh OS install. But I don't want to do that if I'll still be fighting stability.

So I wanted others opinions, is this IP35-Pro a rock solid stable board ?

I've been on this board for quite awhile and I'm happy with it. If it gave me much grief I wouldn't have it. Like any other decent mobo, once you get things tuned for your CPU and RAM, etc. it just does its job.

A lot of probs with C2Ds and Quads I think can be traced back to GTL REF settings, which can be tricky to get right. But some ppl not knowing that will blame the mobo.

i recently swapped up for a new cpu, an intel e5200, i was able to OC it to 4.0ghz (320x12.5) at 1.43volts to the cpu. ram is at 4:5ram ratio, 800mhz.

    temperatures under Prime95 is 61c to 67c.

what does everyone think? is it safe to keep it running under such conditions? is the voltage to the cpu too high? or the temperature?

Is there a guide to setting GTL REF ?

Where do you get bios 18 for the Q9550, saw that 18 is better than 17 for Q9550.
