Anyone using Mushkin Redline XP2-8000 2 gb sticks on the ip35? can't get it to post.
Even tried using the settings I got from a Mushkin board; http://forums.mushkin.com/phpbb2/vie...e+q6600#p40848
Is there a Bios that will let me run these? Running 1.4 atm
CPU Fan RPM Settings going bonkers?
It seems like every other time i go into hibernation or standy-by mode after coming out of it the CPU Fan runs at its max RPM. I have tried to change it back to the previous setting i had it at within Abit GURU and even BIOS but the only thing that works is if i turn off the power source (or unplug it) and then after "clearing" the computer of the power and turn it back on the CPU Fan RPM settings would be back to what i had set it.
I am using Windows XP PRO and i have the Abit Pro version of our motherboards. Is there any solution other than clearing its power? It is quite annoying because i enjoy the quietness when the CPU Fan is not running at its fastest. Also quite annoying to have to clear its power when it does occur.
Ugh.
I don't think the hibernation/standby modes in XP is very good. Why not use Win7? I would have tried that if I used those functions. Anyway, I thought they were there mostly for laptops
it has always worked for me. i dont know what you mean by it is not good? is it eviL? i kid. but on different computers it has always worked without fail. i have never experienced a loss as in when it never resumed from standby or hibernation. it is only this computer with the abit mobo... and even then its a problem of the CPU FAN RPM changing. i remember reading about it somewhere else and the solution was to clear the power cycle.
windows7 is not official yet so the OS can expire at any moment. its a hassle to reinstall.
and why not for desktops? saves electricity to go into standby and hibernation is faster than from a cold boot. i have everything i left off right there. no need toclick and start programs or reload my 40 plus tabs on firefox.
This is a known bug. I have my CPU fan running off the AUX1 header to get around it. For some reason the CPU Fan header runs 100% after returning from sleep. U just need to go into the BIOS UGuru Fan Control area and tell it to ignore the CPU fan header and instead monitor the AUX1 Header. I've also noticed that the CPU temps aren't registered correctly, so I've been monitoring on the SYS temps instead of the CPU.

Great Motherboard this - I have this board and recently upped the BIOS from 14 to the beta 18 as I am planning an upgrade or two.
Current Rough Specs are as follows
Core 2 E6300 (running at 2.9Ghz)
8Gb OCZ RAM
PC Power and Cooling 750W PSU
X1900XT (512Mb) Gfx Card
A few Tb of HDDs
20 Inch Belinea TFT
I have just order a nice 4870 1Gb Card and that will be here soon, the next major update is the main heart of the box - thinking quad QX9550 anyone been from roughly a E6300 to quad?
Any really major plus points to everyday computing/gaming or is it still video encoding/folding etc that gains the most?
I was considering the 9450 but its only 20 quid cheaper where I am. If I'm spending £200 then may as well go to the top of this motherboards line.
I'm just doing a patch-upgrade before I rebuild totally around 32nm - 2010/2011 time.

Hello,
I have a Quad Q6600 in abit IP35 Pro, and I am replacing the processor in an E0 stepping E8400, only to see the site's abit, and have nothing you have to support the review, only to C0.
http://www.abit.com.tw/cpu-support-l...5_ip35-pro.htm
Someone could talk to revision E0 is compatible with the mobo?
Grateful.

My system has recently begun choking up with blue screens and failing POSTs - I figured a RAM issue, and went through all 4 extra sticks of PC8500 RAM I have laying around. Long story short, my system is gold and boots to 4GHz at ease with only 3 sticks of 1GB RAM - as soon as I add a fourth (all Crucial PC8500s), everything goes to heck. I didn't even think about it when I was sorting it out yesterday to raise my MCH beyond 1.41, though in retrospect I'm assuming raising that to 1.5 will soothe things out as well continuing to loosen the RAM timings.
My question is: What's the safest limit I can raise my MCH to on an ABIT IP35 Pro? 1.5?
I bought an E8400 EO to replace my E8400 CO. As soon as it was in, my core temps said 93 & 97 degrees. Since I wasn't running Prime or Orthos yet, I'm assuming this is the temp. issue these processors are known for.
My question is if this is a bios issue or a CPU issue?

For some reason my processor is running a different multiplier on 2 of my cores then on the other two of my Q9450 quad core. I turned off both EIST and C1E but some programs are showing that they're still enabled, so it seems that I may need to flash my bios. I'm using Bios ID 14 currently which came out before the penryn 45nm cpus were released but I didn't appear to have any compatibility problems with my system until I noticed this difference in the multipliers. Which BIOS would you guys recommend for the Q9450 16,17 or the beta 18? I bought this motherboard and cpu as part of a system so I've never flashed a bios before. I can flash from a cd-rom right? the abit guide only shows how to do it from floppy and the one on this site only shows floppy or USB just making sure. I've read that BIOS 17 and 18 don't work at all with a USB keyboard not even the del key so the only way to get into BIOS is with a PS/2 keyboard for these BIOS? My USB only had limited functioning with 14 BIOS but then I changed the use keyboard via setting from O/S to BIOS in the USB Fuctions and now the USB keyboard has full functioning is it the same with the other BIOS or is it totally broken?
And just double checking the ccmos switch on the back of the motherboard is the same as the ccmos jumper right? just makes it more accessible right? I really don't want to screw this up
One more question, can I just copy and paste the Bios flash files onto a black cd-r then boot from cd-rom? It won't work will it I need to format it for MSDOS right. Can anyone tell me exactly how to do it I'm getting confused I search on how to do it but there seems to be a lot of ways to make an MSDOS startup CD like this el torito I'm reading about but I need a harddrive under 650mb so I can't use that method. I don't have a floppy drive unfortunately

On my Abit IP35 limiting factor for good overclocks seems to be the PWM temp. If it goes over 100C computer crashes or shuts down.
This runs quite nicely though:
Should I watercool it or keep wondering otherways to get higher?
