4GB should be sufficient. I'd say for W7 2GB is the minimum. I ran 8GB, luckily I got it cheap ($30 total after rebate). Shame DDR2 is so expensive now.

I have my E8400 oc'ed to a decent 4GHz as a daily beater, but not using that rig right now (innurweb issues). My settings have been very stable over the long run. I'll try to get some of those settings posted up here for ya soon.

I think Prime95 to be a mediocre stress-test tool. Try IntelBurnTest instead. It should be more stressful than Prime95.

Drivers:
- Intel Chipset 9.4.0.1017 NEW!
EXE & ZIP formats
These drivers are unnecessary if you're running Windows Vista or newer as they contain all necessary chipset drivers for our board. If you would still like to run Intel's drivers, you can update Intel system devices through Device Manager by pointing them to an extracted installation directory of these drivers, but I don't think there is any benefit to doing so. You can also run infinst_autol.exe /overall to do this automatically.- Intel Rapid Storage Technology 10.8.0.1003
Setup download | Floppy (driver only) download
32-bit and 64-bit floppy files for use during Windows XP or Server 2003 installation, or for manual installation through Device Manager on all versions of Windows: here
These drivers are only necessary if you're running the onboard Intel storage controller in AHCI/RAID mode (see here to enable AHCI if running Windows 7 or Vista). This version of Intel RST is the final supported version for the abit IP35 Pro due to its use of the ICH9R chipset, which Intel has deemed obsolete.- Realtek 8110SC PCI Gigabit Ethernet Controller NEW!
While this points to the PCI-E-based NIC driver, this driver is newer than the one found on the 8110SC page and works without issue.- Realtek High Audio Definition R2.70 (6809) for Windows Vista / 7 / 8 NEW!
- Realtek High Audio Definition R2.70 (6809) for 2000 / XP / 2003 NEW!
- JMicron JMB363 Storage Controller R1.17.65 WHQL
Utilities:
abit IP35 Pro motherboard & uGuru manual
Click here for my latest BIOS compilation, which improves compatibility with SSDs.
The latest BIOS compilation is still current. Neither Realtek nor JMicron have released new option ROMs, and Intel dropped support for the ICH9R chipset in their Rapid Storage Technology ROMs ages ago so the ROM 8.5.0.1030 and the driver 10.8.0.1003 WHQL are the final versions which will work with the abit IP35 Pro.

Thanks for updating this thread!
Just bought a 4 x 2gb ddr2 800 muskhin to replace my 4 x1gb transcend.
I cannot post whenever i use 3 or 4 sticks or ram( i've tried all different combinations )
I selected very loose timings (6-8-8-25) with 2,15V and mch at 1,44 and even at default 800mhz i vet BSOD.
So ,is there any recommended bios version i can test before i return the memory and live up with 4 x1gb?
Now i'm on modified .17 i think (how can i check the version i'm using ? It's been over 2 years i last updated my bios)
What is the part number for your RAM? Is it 1.8v RAM?
The POST screen tells you the BIOS version at the bottom of the screen. BIOS version should make very little difference, BIOS 18 only added support for E0 stepping for some processors IIRC.

It"s the corsair hx520.
I"ll try and test them but all sticks seems to be ok because when used in pairs of two(2 x 2gb) system runs fine even overclocked. The time i add one or two more i get error msg(either windows loading and attempt to make a repair or bsod or system freezes) even when underclocked to 700Mhz and very loose timings and MCH 1,52V and DDR2 2,125V
I was using 4x1gb at 900 mhz with tight timings and everything was ok.I didn"t expect to be so different with 4x2gb
thanks for the updates.
curious is anyone is making updates with the same board, to make it Crysis3 or BF4 ready?
what are your plans?
myself, not sure if getting a Corsair Hydro Series would contribute. Unfortunately, still running Win7 32-bit, so memory is maxed already.
my current card is running ok even MP BF3 but did hiccup on MOH.

New to this forum but found it while looking for bios information on my aging but still alive and trusty Abit IP35 Pro motherboard. I am trying to download the Bios compilation but I get this error "This account's public links are generating too much traffic and have been temporarily disabled!". Is it possible to get it from another source?
