    Sub-10s @5040MHz with E6600 on P5B-DLX

    CPU: E6600
    FPO/BATCH: L709A436
    RAM: Wintec AMPX PC2-8000 C5 (D9GKX)
MOBO: Asus P5B Deluxe rev C1, Vcore, Vdroop, Vdimm, Vmch mods
    VCORE: 1.77v DMM
    VMCH: 1.72v DMM
    VDIMM: 2.64v DMM
    OS: Win 2k3 Server
    COOLING: "Grosse Bertha" 3-Stager

Here's my lowest CPU clock to get sub-10s... looking fast; really fast.

    Another run at 5100MHz flat...

I've tried a 2M at 5100MHz and got 24.573s or something but the FSB is very unstable there and didn't allow me to take screenshot. In fact, this CPU can't do 570FSB; I guess the wall is 569 at that temperature.

Thx to JP for all his unmeasurable help. And thx guys for reading.
    Best Regards,
    Xavier

Nice work before ,, very optimized run indeed

i bet you can hit sub 9s with the right CPU

@kemo: too expensive lol ; new intel generation will come this summer...

@misko: strap is modded here. It wouldn't be funny to play with a 1066 strap mobo.

wow great I didn't know that Asus can go 560+ with 1066 strap. I was wondering when u said u want to to challenge me on 6600 , I said in mysef with Asus there is no way but if can pull such high fsb @1066 strap then it would be very interested to see it.

It isn't strap 1066 here, but a modded 1333 The mchbar has been tweaked.

    That's very interesting...

Now show us sub-10, sub-5 GHz, sub 50k pp all at once.

erm...its sorta custom made 3 stage cascade phase unit, no company makes it, you'd hafta contact someone to see if theyll make it for you and if not then you'd have to make it yourself.

i no longer use a laptop.

Nice run before .... I guess this is a faster board than the DFI if you went back to it? That cooling of yours is a beast, wonder what your electricity bill would be if you make it your 24/7 cooling hehe.....

hehe I'm pretty sure sub-10s is doable with a lowest CPU operating frequency; but with more timings adjustements. I've got some weird problems with my 2nd stage and didn't had the time to do more runs.

It isn't easy to explain really; these modifications involve machine language coding. BTW AFAIK someone might be working on an easy to use application to allow changes on the fly; just like you change timings with memtest.

It's an home-made phase change unit.

Difficult to say; my k type thermocouple is very bad and contact with evaporator was bad too. Low side pressure was 0.1bar which corresponds to -135C with pure ethylene but much lower with an ethylene / methane mixture. BTW speedfan seems to be quite correct on this P5B-Dlx; @5.1GHz idle was -114C (-112C shortly after the runs) and load was about -105C.

Anyway, 2nd has some problems handling the load.

    Not benching 24/7

I went back to P5B because speedfan gives some reasonably true temperatures while the DFI gives -128C idle which is hard to believe.

    Xavier

    Well done Before but :
    Write to precharge : 11=>9
    Write to read : 10=>9

Maybe can you save 0.015s with it...

Yea; those L709A are very good clockers Too bad the first one has already been sold, it took 605FSB and should have been very good for benching under the cascade.

Exact It isn't the best one in term of FSB; could only takes about 570FSB under cascade. Anyway, that's fairly good.

Of course buddy, I didn't really tune the timings.

nice results , how much mch voltage helps u to get stabilty ? i mean what s the difference between max set on bios(i dont remember exact value now) and moded value (u say 1.72v) ?

Don't know which value really helps stability; IIRC max actual Vmch should be 1.62v.

    New Spi1M... boot @570FSB*9 with 1.84v
